Germany has begun preparations for a large-scale war with Russia by developing a 1,000-page ‘German Operational Plan.’
The contents are largely secret, the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reports.
‘It lists all the buildings and infrastructure that require protection for military reasons. In the event of a war on NATO’s eastern flank, Germany would become the center for tens of thousands, and possibly hundreds of thousands of soldiers who need to be transported to the east.
The Bundeswehr has recently begun to prepare companies for a future emergency based on this secret plan.
The head of the command body for the territorial defense of the federal state of Hamburg, Jörn Plischke, advised a meeting with representatives of German companies.
His message is to train at least five out of every hundred employees to drive trucks, stock up on diesel generators and draw up a plan for employees in advance in case of a crisis.
It is specified that the Bundeswehr does not consider the plan complete and calls it a ‘living document’ open to additions.
