As history was being rewritten real history was diligently removed. Post-war generations might be surprised to learn that before, during and immediately after World War II the truth about the so-called Russian Revolution, the Rise and Fall of the Workers Reich and World War II itself was a rich part of public debate.

For instance, features and columns issued by leading figures of the Third Reich and Fascist Italy were published in mainstream media. Viscount Rothermere, one of Britain’s most famous Press barons openly supported Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. as did the Chicago Tribune and many other media.

Film epics like Leni Reifenstahl’s Triumph of the Will and Olympia were shown at cinemas throughout the country. Purchasing an unexpurgated copy of Hitler Mein Kampf (My Struggle) was possible and illustrated books ~ most looted from the fallen Reich were found in all second-hand bookshops.

Books were written and published and openly sold by great military commanders criticising the Allies war on Germany and Italy. From Admiral to Cabin Boy by Sir Barry E. Domville, The New Unhappy Lords penned by the distinguished English writer A. K. Chesterton, many others are relegated to obscurity as are their book publishers. Throughout Britain there were many book publishers happy to publish books that have since disappeared.

Perhaps sensing that real history would be removed, Mike Walsh, author and historian diligently collected thousands of periodicals and media press cuttings, books written and published by prominent political and military men and women, pamphlets, letters to the press, anything that he realised would soon be torched in the coming cancel culture phenomenon.
