REAL HISTORY: In the 1950s at the University of Mississippi, the Band of the South marched onto the field in Confederate-style grey.
During the parade, the world’s largest Confederate flag was unfurled and billed as such while the band played ‘Dixie.’
Athletes and band members carried it out at halftime, a staple of Ole Miss games, and the 1958 yearbook captured it, repeating the image for years.
Dixie

That scene was common across the South. In Mississippi above all, and throughout the SEC in Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, and elsewhere, large Confederate flags and ‘Dixie’ formed part of mid-century football pageantry, band uniforms, card sections, and crowd rituals.
Ole Miss
Ole Miss usually had the best displays of all: Colonel Reb, the flag, the song, and the chant that the South would rise again. They expressed the living identity of the region, its history, and culture.
Later, carpetbaggers, scallywags, and their modern heirs, Orwellian iconoclasts and woke cancel-culture Mao-Marxists, waged war on this ordinary piece of harmless regional Americana.
Betrayal Inc
The same leftist voices that demand Americans embrace foreign ideologies and third-world cultural imports have labored to erase Southern and Confederate memory.

American and Confederate banners are now often treated as forbidden. This is selective hostility to anything recognizably American, especially anything that evokes independent people who once defied centralized power.
Confederate battle flag
The Confederate battle flag stood for the same principle that animated the American Revolution: resistance to a distant government that claimed the right to dictate the terms of life and loyalty.
The men who followed it were ordinary Americans defending homes, families, and states against invasion, exactly as their grandfathers had done in 1776. Later generations carried it as an emblem of that defiance, of traditional life, and of a stronger local identity.
Hate Slime
Leftists hate the flag for those reasons. It reminds them that large numbers of Americans once rejected the idea that government should treat them as soft, defenseless subjects.
WITNESS TO HISTORY. Mike Walsh. Major book publishers banned this illustrated book, yet it remains the most widely read true history of the Christian Reich and World War II. Click the picture to see more.
Leftist motives remain consistent: cultural erasure, disarmament, and the conversion of free people into a defenseless flock. Britain and France under leftist governance supply the warning.
The Giant Flag
The giant flag on the Ole Miss field was once ordinary. It was part of the culture and identity of the people who lived it.
Southern Americans in the Confederacy who answered the call were honorable men doing their duty under the standards of their time.
