The True Meaning of Love Through a Child’s Eyes

This question was asked to children aged 4 to 8 years old. The responses were honest and deeper than anyone could have expected…

– ‘When my grandma got arthritis, she couldn’t bend down to paint her toenails anymore. So, my grandpa does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too… That’s love.’ – Rebecca, 8 years old

– ‘When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.’ – Billy, 4 years old

– ‘Love is when you go out to eat, and you give most of your fries to someone without asking them to give you some of theirs.’ – Chrissy, 6 years old

– ‘Love is what makes you smile when you’re tired.’ – Terri, 4 years old

– ‘Love is when my mom makes coffee for my dad and takes a sip before giving it to him to make sure it’s good.’ – Danny, 7 years old

– ‘If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend you hate.’ – Nikka, 6 years old

– ‘Love is when you tell a guy he looks good in his shirt and he wears it every day.’ – Noelle, 7 years old

– ‘Love is like a little old lady and a little old man who are still friends even though they’ve known each other for so long.’ – Tommy, 6 years old

– ‘During my piano concert, I was on stage and really scared. I looked out at all the people watching me and saw my dad waving and smiling at me. Only he does that. I wasn’t scared anymore.’ – Cindy, 8 years old

– ‘Love is when mom sees dad smelly and sweaty and still says he’s more handsome than Brad Pitt.’ – Chris, 7 years old

– ‘Love is when your dog licks your face even if you left him alone all day.’ – Mary Ann, 4 years old

– ‘Love is when mom sees dad on the toilet and doesn’t think it’s gross.’ – Mark, 6 years old

– ‘You shouldn’t say ‘I love you’ if you don’t really mean it. But if you do mean it, you should say it often. People forget.’ – Jessica, 8 years old

The winner is a 4-year-old boy whose neighbor is an older man. The boy saw the man crying because he had recently lost his wife. So, he went to the man’s garden, sat on his lap, and just sat there.

When his mom asked him why he did it and what he said to the neighbor, the boy replied: ‘Nothing, I just helped him cry.’ Tell us what you think

  1. The blonde green eyed Irish virgin Honey Chambers chose me as a young lad.

Once she rode her bike over from the next town and I carried her upstairs after a greeting in the foyer.

Still the best thing to ever happen to me and the old saying about better to love once than never at all is true.

God’s love is still the greatest gift though.
