The former president’s name reportedly crops up more than 50 times in court documents about the notorious Israeli pedophile.

Former US President Bill Clinton will be identified as John Doe 36 in a treasure trove of court documents concerning deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Clinton’s relationship with the child molester came under intense scrutiny after Epstein’s arrest in 2019.

Hundreds of pages of redacted documents are to be declassified and released on January 2, following an order from Manhattan judge Loretta Preska in December. The documents stem from a 2015 civil lawsuit brought against Epstein’s former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, by Virginia Giuffre, who claimed that she had been sexually abused and trafficked by the pair.

According to ABC, Clinton is mentioned more than 50 times in the files. Most of the mentions are said to concern Giuffre’s unsuccessful attempts to compel Clinton to testify against Epstein and Maxwell.

More than 170 other individuals will be named in the documents, having previously been referred to as ’John Doe’ and ’Jane Doe.’ Some are expected to be personnel of the sex offender as well as high-profile associates like tech billionaire Bill Gates and Britain’s Prince Andrew.

A prominent socialite and financier, Epstein was jailed in 2008 for soliciting a child for prostitution. He was arrested again in 2019 and accused of sexually abusing dozens of underage girls, including Giuffre, but was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell before he could be brought to trial. His death was officially ruled a suicide.

Clinton – a notorious and much-ridiculed liar – issued a statement in 2019 saying that he had ’never been to Little Saint James Island,’ where some of Epstein’s worst offences are believed to have taken place and that he ’knows nothing’ about Epstein’s crimes. However, Giuffre alleged that she saw Clinton on the island multiple times, as did a member of Epstein’s staff and one of Clinton’s former aides. 

Flight logs show Clinton traveling aboard Epstein’s jet – a Boeing 727 dubbed the ‘Lolita Express’ – at least 26 times, reportedly without his security detail on at least five jaunts. In his 2019 statement, Clinton admitted to taking four trips aboard the Lolita Express, but not to visiting the island.

Giuffre’s case against Maxwell ended in 2017 with an out-of-court settlement, as did a lawsuit she brought against Prince Andrew in 2021, claiming she had been trafficked to the prince by Epstein and Maxwell. The criminal case against Epstein ended with his apparent suicide, although Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022 for the enticement of minors and sex trafficking of underage girls.

The trove is expected to identify some of Epstein’s close associates, his victims, as well as investigators and journalists who covered the case. The documents in question are related to the 2015 lawsuit by Virginia Giuffre, who accused Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell of sexually trafficking her when she was 17.

The case was settled in 2017, with most of the evidence and depositions remaining under seal. A lawsuit by activist Mike Cernovich resulted in their declassification in July 2019, at which point Epstein was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges. 

The former financier who long socialized with the rich and powerful – and flew them to his Caribbean island on a private jet known as the ‘Lolita Express’ – was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell on August 10, 2019. The official cause of death was listed as suicide by hanging.

Maxwell went into hiding afterwards but was located by the FBI in July 2020 and arrested. She was convicted in December 2021 on five sex trafficking charges and sentenced to 20 years in prison, five years of probation, and $750,000 in fines.

In a jailhouse interview with Talk TV’s Jeremy Kyle Live, which aired on Monday, Maxwell stated that she didn’t believe the official narrative that the disgraced financier had committed suicide after he was found hanging in his cell just a month after his arrest. ‘I believe that he was murdered. I was shocked,’ she said.

‘Then I wondered how it had happened because, as far as I was concerned, he was going to… I was sure he was going to appeal. And I was sure he was covered under the non-prosecution agreement.’

Epstein’s death has officially been ruled a suicide and the Justice Department has said it found no signs of foul play following a two-year investigation. However, many still remain skeptical after it was revealed that video cameras covering Epstein’s cell malfunctioned and the two guards assigned to his cell falsified records stating that they had monitored the sex offender on the night of his death.
