By the end of April 1945, the defending armies of the German Workers Reich were on the point of being overwhelmed. Hopelessly outnumbered by the armed forces of three non-European empires, the last battles were fought in Berlin and the Baltic States.
Fierce battles including hand-to-hand fighting were taking place in the outskirts of Berlin. It was a futile struggle and already beginning the most horrifying mass rapes and murders in European history. It is estimated that 14 million Germans, through forced deprivation, population displacement, starvation and slavery were doomed to perish.

Yevgeny Khaldei was the official Red Army photographer who had a special mission to accomplish. According to Spanish investigative journalist Manuel Villatoro, Soviet dictator Joe Stalin had been impressed by the iconic image the raising of the flag on Iwo Jima had on the public.
A close friend of the similarly unelected warlord Winston Churchill, Stalin wanted a photograph that would at least be as well-received as the picture of American troops raising the Stars and Stripes during the battle for the Japanese-held island.

Josef Stalin had expressed his craving to see victory photographs with Red Army soldiers hoisting the Soviet flag on top of the symbolic German parliament. Returning from Berlin without these photos was not an option.
Khaldei had his friend, a tailor named Israil Solomovich, make him three hammer and sickle flags out of the three red tablecloths that he had stolen from the government office. He took the flags and his Leica camera with him and, as a lieutenant in the Red Army, left for Berlin. By April 25 1945 Soviet troops had successfully encircled Berlin.
Khaldei was looking for the perfect shot and he tried several places. The first photo was taken on top of the captured Templehof Airport in Berlin; the second flag was hoisted over the Brandenburg Gate.

The third photo was captured on 2 May 1945 on top of the Reichstag building. It was a staged act, allegedly a recreation of the events that had taken place two days earlier.
There is much controversy over who was really the first to reach the roof of Reichstag with a flag. It was probably Rakhimzhan Qoshqarbaev, a Red Army soldier of Kazakh origin on 30 April. On the next day, 1 May 1945, two scouts scaled the roof and attached the banner to the roof.

The two were ethnic Russian, Mikhail A. Yegorov (1923-75) and a Georgian named Meliton Kantaria (1920-93). The Reichstag building was still under fire and there is no photo of the event as it was too dark.
When the fighting was finally over, Yevgeny Khaldei invited two random soldiers, who scaled the now deserted ruins of the parliament and staged his perfect shots.
He made altogether 36 shots, the best of which was published in the Ogonek magazine. Even these photos were heavily modified and the one most published was actually made up of two photographs. The required impression was to give the appearance that there was still fighting going on in the streets below. This became the most iconic photo of the World War II victory.

Kantaria and Yegorov were proclaimed Heroes of the Soviet Union. But it is little known that there was also a third participant Oleksiy Berest (1921-70). Berest was a Ukrainian political officer of the Red Army. His role was hushed down obviously for ideological reasons.
It was best to glorify Yegorov as ethnic Russian and Kantaria as Georgian because Stalin was also Georgian. Oleksiy Berest was quiet about the whole thing until 1995 when he revealed that the NKVD had asked him just to keep his mouth shut.
Of the many images obtained the published ones were usually those modified after the arm-filled looted watches were removed from the supporting soldier’s arm. These prove that the men had actually been looting their way to Berlin. The watches were quickly scratched out by the author and some dramatic smoke was added to the background.

Nature Gone Wild: Hurricane Lowell Causes Panic Buying In Hawaii, Monster Waves From Hurricane Marie Slam California, And Anak Krakatau Explodes
We warned you every day will be news of news till Sep-Oct7 …. look at it UK border lines are attacked by Muslim invaders and now this story 3 just in USA?
Three very dangerous hurricanes are churning in the eastern Pacific Ocean and Anak Krakatau has violently erupted. The cataclysmic 1883 eruption of the original Krakatau volcano was one of the loudest and most powerful volcanic eruptions ever recorded, and it significantly reduced global temperatures for an extended period of time. So when Anak Krakatau starts to cause chaos, everyone should be paying attention. Of course here in the United States people are much more concerned about the three enormous hurricanes that are looming dangerously close to U.S. territory.
On Monday morning, Accuweather was telling us that Hurricane Lowell would “come within 100 miles of the western islands of Hawaii”…
That would have been bad enough.
But now CNN is reporting that the forecast has changed and now Hurricane Lowell is expected to “pass about 75 miles west of the more populous Kauai as a Category 2 storm Monday night through Tuesday morning”…
Residents of Hawaii certainly don’t want to hear that Lowell will “get closer than previously thought”.
So what if Lowell keeps drifting in that direction and ends up making a direct hit on the Hawaiian islands?
That could be catastrophic.
At this moment, panic buying has erupted on Kauai as Hurricane Lowell approaches.
At Home Depot, supplies of plywood and propane are rapidly disappearing…
This sort of thing always seems to happen whenever a major disaster is looming.
One local resident said that Costco “was just flooded with people”…
Meanwhile, another extremely large hurricane has been sending monster waves into the Southern California coastline…
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
But it is.
In Long Beach, gigantic waves caused by Hurricane Marie have transformed “scenic waterfront streets into treacherous, waterlogged disaster zones”…
The footage of these waves that is being shared on social media is absolutely shocking.
Authorities rushed to build an emergency sand berm, but it was no match for the colossal waves that kept relentlessly rushing in…
Hurricane Marie is not anywhere close to shore, but it is still inflicting quite a bit of pain.
In fact, the Metrolink Pacific Surfliner railroad in San Clemente had to be shut down for repairs because swells from Hurricane Marie had caused so much damage.
A third major storm, Hurricane Karina, is not currently expected to be a serious threat but meteorologists continue to monitor it.
On the other side of the world, a massive eruption of Anak Krakatau that lasted for 25 hours forced the cancellation of hundreds of flights at Jakarta’s main international airport…
This was a very large eruption of a very dangerous volcano.
As of a few hours ago, a total of seven airports in Indonesia were still closed…

Jonathan Cahn reveals that he was the passenger attacked mid-flight by “Duct-Taped Man” on flight 618
Sep 7, 2026
The passenger seated beside the man whose midair outburst turned American Airlines Flight 618 into a viral spectacle has now been named. According to a report from Charisma Magazine, the unidentified traveler at the center of the chaos was New York Times bestselling author and minister Jonathan Cahn.
The Dallas-Fort Worth-to-Newark flight was forced to divert to Baltimore on September 3 after 67-year-old passenger Arthur Lundeen allegedly grew violent and disruptive. Crew and fellow travelers eventually restrained him with duct tape and zip ties.
He was later arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree assault. Amid reports of shouting, a struggle in the aisle, and an outburst that invoked Jesus and hell, one key figure had remained unnamed: the man sitting directly next to Lundeen.
Cahn says that man was him.
“I was the unidentified passenger,” Cahn said. “And I was actually attacked 30,000 ft in the sky. I was attacked on that plane.”
He had sat beside Lundeen for hours before the encounter turned threatening. At one point, Cahn said, Lundeen reached across and placed his hands around Cahn’s neck in what first appeared to be a joking imitation of a chokehold. The tone then changed. Cahn recalled Lundeen issuing an antisemitic threat: “I will punch your [expletive] Jewish face in.”
Then the blows began. Cahn said Lundeen struck him in the chest and moved toward his face as if trying to force a fight. Cahn said he did not strike back and instead called for flight attendants.
The confrontation was not over. As Cahn stood to move into the aisle with his laptop, he said Lundeen lunged. “He grabs the laptop violently trying to wrest it out of my hand,” Cahn said. The two men struggled over the computer while other passengers watched and the plane prepared for an emergency landing.
Cahn said he was injured in the clash. About a month earlier he had hurt his left shoulder and arm playing racquetball with his sons, an injury that had felt like a dislocation. That morning in Dallas, he said, was the first time the pain had seemed gone. During what he described as Lundeen’s “last surge of anger,” the other passenger grabbed that same arm and yanked it. Cahn said the force left his shoulder in severe pain, as if it had been dislocated again.
Other men then stepped in. Lundeen was taped to his seat as Flight 618 descended into Baltimore. Cahn said the cabin went quiet. “The whole plane is silent, staring, trying to see what’s happening,” he said.
After landing, federal authorities boarded, spoke with Cahn, and took his contact information. Lundeen was removed from the aircraft.
In the aftermath, one of the men who had helped Cahn offered to sit beside him for the rest of the trip. Cahn said the man, a fellow believer, told him, “You were being tested. God was testing you.” Another passenger recognized Cahn from his ministry and said he watched him every day. Cahn replied, “Well, now you watched me in person.”
Cahn insisted the physical struggle is not the full account. “There’s more to this story than the media will ever tell you or know,” he said.
I and you become we and get all stronger… indeed
