If this description resonates with you, then there is a good reason for the resonance.
According to accounts gathered by various researchers, the higher self is the part of our being that never fully leaves the spiritual realm.
It can be described as the highest level of consciousness, the core of the soul, the source of our identity, and the storehouse of all the knowledge we have ever accumulated.
When a soul chooses to incarnate, it does not descend entirely into the physical world.
Based on many sessions, it is suggested that only a portion of the soul’s energy enters the body, often somewhere between about one quarter and three quarters
The remaining part, sometimes even more than half, stays ‘there’ in its natural environment, surrounded by light and in constant connection with guides and its soul group.
This proportion is not random: younger souls often send a smaller part of themselves to limit the intensity of the experience. More advanced souls may choose to enter with a greater portion of their energy, as they have better control over themselves and their incarnation.
The part that remains is the core of the higher self, which never forgets who we are, where we come from, and where we are going.
The higher self has been described as the deepest layer of the human mind. An inner center surrounded by the subconscious. This is where memories of this and past lives are stored.

Also, the conscious mind, which handles analysis, action, and sensory input.
What makes the higher self different is that it is not limited by time or space. From its perspective, past, present, and future exist simultaneously.
What we describe as Fate has a purpose. It perceives life as a complete map with many possible paths and turning points.
From this level, it can sense the outcomes of our choices and send subtle impulses guiding us toward the path aligned with the plan set before birth.
It is also seen as an eternal part of the soul that can actively influence human life. In deep states of awareness, people often shift from their everyday personality into this higher level of consciousness.
This sense communicates with a calm and confident clarity, speaking about life in terms of a greater plan.

From this perspective, it can explain why someone experiences illness, difficult relationships, or sudden life changes, showing how these situations serve growth and learning.
It is also believed that the higher self can create direct changes in the body and mind when aligned with the soul’s purpose, removing energetic blocks, accelerating healing, and sometimes even resolving physical or emotional issues.
The higher self is not something that activates only in special states; it is present at every moment of our lives, constantly observing and processing our experiences.
In everyday life, its signals reach us as intuition, sudden insights, seemingly ‘coincidental’ encounters, or inspiration without a clear logical source.

However, the conscious mind often filters these signals through beliefs, fears, stress, and habitual thinking patterns, which is why we may not recognize or understand them.
During meditation, prayer, or deep contemplation, this filter weakens, making the connection to this higher part of ourselves more noticeable.
That connection often brings a sense of inner peace, because the higher self does not experience chaos or pain in the same way the everyday mind does.
Throughout mortal life, the higher self that we think of as Fate acts as a guardian of our soul’s plan. It observes how we move through the lessons we set for ourselves and helps ensure we do not drift too far from our intended path.
It does not force events but instead strengthens certain signals to draw our attention.
When these signals are ignored, more intense experiences may arise, not as punishment, but as a way of ensuring that the purpose of the life path is not lost.

Spirit guides play a meaningful role in this process, as they remain close to us and support us along the way.
The higher self is also a bridge to our soul group and spiritual guides. From a human perspective, we may feel separate, but in reality, there is a constant exchange of subtle communication with that ‘other side.’
This can appear through vivid, symbolic dreams, sudden realizations that bring clarity, or a deep inner knowing that a decision is simply right, even without logical explanation.
After physical death, when we fully return to the spiritual realm, we immediately reintegrate with the part of ourselves that remained there throughout life. This reunion feels like coming back to oneself after a long journey.

In that moment, it becomes clear that we were never truly disconnected; the higher self quietly guided us through every experience.
The higher self can be seen as the thread that connects us to our spiritual home. It provides continuity between lifetimes and serves as a source of inner wisdom, memory, and healing energy.
From its perspective, life is not a random sequence of events but a carefully arranged series of experiences designed to teach specific lessons.
Even when the everyday mind gets lost in details, this higher part of us always sees the full picture, patiently waiting for us to tune back into its voice. Let us hear your comments.

For the last year or two I’ve been playing around listening to the Gateway tapes from the Monroe Institute. Very much the same idea, the purpose of the tapes is to show the user that world, interact with it, etc. I can’t say I’ve had any profound experiences, but there have been a few “WTF” moments that I can’t deny felt like something different.
I keep trying, but have found it challenging as there is not a concrete and steady path forward. Kinda goes in spurts, where nothing happens for 5 or 6 sessions, then you have one that feels like something happened.
