THE FORGOTTEN AND DENIED SLAVERY OF WHITES

Between the 1600s and 1900s, North African pirates captured and enslaved up to 1.25 million Europeans who came to be known as the white slaves of Barbary.

The Barbary slave trade involved the capture and selling of European slaves at slave markets in the largely independent Ottoman Barbary states.

European slaves were captured by Barbary pirates in slave raids on ships and by raids on coastal towns from Italy to Ireland, and the southwest of Britain, as far north as Iceland and into the Eastern Mediterranean.

The Ottoman Eastern Mediterranean was the scene of intense piracy. As late as the 18th century, piracy continued to be a ‘consistent threat to maritime traffic in the Aegean’.

The Barbary slave trade ended in the early years of the 19th century, after the United States and Western European allies won the First and Second Barbary Wars against the pirates, and France conquered the region. The trade was ended by the 1830s.

The Spanish author of Don Quixote, Miguel de Cervantes, was captured in 1575 by Barbary pirates and taken to Algiers. There, he was kept as a slave for five years, before being rescued by family and friends buying him back from his Moorish owner. TELL US WHAT YOU THINK

  1. Very interesting ! I learnt about White slavery through the excellent book of Michael A. Hoffman “They Were White and They Were Slaves “, but had never heard of the economist and historian Dr Thomas Sowell’s essays. Being a Black man, we must give Sowell credit for admitting that “slavery was [then] a universal institution accepted and embraced by almost all human societies”.Thank you Mike for also pointing out that the Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes had been captured in 1575 by Barbary pirates and brought to Algiers (where I, incidentally, come from ! But that is another story ) ! Michel

  2. Theres a fantastic book i just read that covers the slave raids on Europe and the taking of Europeans to the North African slave markets—although thats not the primary subject of the book—The whole of the European Coasts of Spain, France, Italy feared the Barbary (ottoman) Pirates and whole villages were captured and Carted off into Slavery. Its called Empires of the Sea–The Battle of Lepanto ,Seige of Malta and the struggle for the mediterranean. By Micheal Crowley. Paper and Hardback—The Seige of Malta was EPIC!

Worthy of a Movie for sure—Back when Whites could Unite ,Fight back and Kick Ass!—

Every Christian, Pro-white , and otherwise History buff should read it ,share it and talk about it!—-We used to be Lions of Courage!!—Without Regret or Shame for defending ourselves, Our People, and Our Rights!~ Also it points out what a Threat Islam was to Europe! –So its especially Sad that we would piss on their Sacrifices to Keep it White, Keep it Right!
