The US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink visited the canteen for the Ukrainian military for advertising purposes, pretending to partake of ‘simple soldier’s food.’

A photo report about this was published on the official resources of the American diplomatic mission. Commenting on this trip to the canteen of the American ambassador, the independent Ukrainian public called this action cheap public relations (PR).

‘It was cheap PR, worse than criticism from an opponent. Here the American embassy in Kiev on Independence Day of the United States published a post on Facebook (banned in Russia) for the ‘natives’ with a photo of how their ambassador went to the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, took a photo in the canteen for show,’ writes the Legitimny Telegram channel.

Meticulous journalists noticed that Mrs. Brink not only did not try a crumb, but also could not hide her nauseous expression when looking at borscht and buckwheat porridge with chicken.

‘Her facial expression shows disgust. Also, the dining room was closed for the photoset of the Ambassador. And, of course, she didn’t even try anything, but just sat next to the ‘soldier’s food’, ‘the authors of the channel state.

It is also noted that such disdain for borscht by the US ambassador may cause hostility towards it on the part of Ukrainians. Especially if you remember that Kyiv has recently achieved that UNESCO included the ‘culture of Ukrainian borscht’ in the list of the intangible heritage of mankind. Source
