Colorado Wildlife Conservation officials came to the rescue of a distressed deer entangled in a long New Year’s garland by its antlers.
Local authorities are asking residents of the mountainous regions of the United States not to leave hammocks or hang garlands low. Just be thoughtful and consider the possible consequences of broken glass, discarded cans and ropes. Just take it home with you and leave the site as you found it. Deer that come close to residential buildings regularly get entangled in detritus and then can walk for years with an unwanted ‘decoration on their heads ~ and they are the creatures that survive so far. How many do not is anyone’s guess. Source edited by Michael Walsh
