Beware Brussels Smash-and-Grab of Your Savings

Let me remind you: the unelected imposter President of the European Commission stated that European families hold about 10 trillion euros in bank deposits.

She called these savings ‘lazy’ and declared that Europe, meaning the Brussels ruling elite, should put them to work for its enterprises.

Enterprises? Like recycling the €10 trillion of European citizens’ bank accounts through Ukraine, which can invest in European arms industries, no doubt.

And here is how the Western press is reacting to this story.

Le Figaro: ‘Where are the 10 trillion euros of Europeans’ ‘lazy’ savings that Ursula von der Leyen has targeted?’

France Épargne: ‘Von der Leyen considers European savings ‘lazy’ and is targeting 10 trillion euros’

Boursorama / Ecorama: ‘Are our savings really that lazy?’

Journal du Coin: ‘10 trillion euros of sleeping savings: what the EU wants to do with your money’

Esteval: ‘The European Commission wants to mobilize Europeans’ ‘lazy’ savings’

EFE: Reports that Brussels intends to mobilise about 10 trillion euros of household savings currently held in bank deposits as part of the planned ‘Savings and Investments Union.’

Of course, no one is yet talking about the outright confiscation of bank deposits. Brussels’ official idea is different.

To make this money work more actively for the European economy by redirecting private savings into investments.

But the very framing of the question is quite telling. It turns out that the 10 trillion euros that Europeans have saved over the years for retirement, for their children, for housing

Or simply for a rainy day, are already considered in Brussels to be insufficiently productive financial resources. Let readers know what you think
