Many thousands of anti-migrant ethic Britons have been deployed in Portsmouth, England, as the state police form cordons between groups.

Thousands of anti-migrant protesters and counter-demonstrators gathered in Portsmouth on Saturday, with a major police operation put in place to keep the groups apart.

Stop the Boats

Hundreds of officers formed a cordon around Portsmouth Guildhall Square as anti-migrant demonstrators carrying Union flags chanted ‘stop the boats.’

Nearby, supporters of the Stand Up to Racism campaign assembled with banners reading ‘Refugees Welcome’ and ‘RNLI are heroes, no-one is illegal’.

Face Coverings Banned

The demonstrations came as Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary enforced new powers banning face coverings across parts of the city from 10am on Saturday until Sunday morning.

Wry Remark

One White activist wryly remarked that when the next pandemic scam is let loose on the innocent population as it was in 2020, ethnic Britons will not be allowed to wear face masks.

State police warned that anyone breaching the restrictions could face arrest and said they would not tolerate individuals seeking to create fear or incite violence.

No Arrests so far

No protestors in Portsmouth have been reported to be wearing face coverings. At the time of publication, no arrests had been reported in connection with today’s demonstration.

Among those attending was 82-year-old Portsmouth resident Dennis Wills, who said he supported stricter action to prevent small boat crossings but was concerned by criticism directed at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

The protests follow a series of demonstrations across the country in recent weeks.

The Portsmouth protest also comes after Iraqi national Sadiq Farhad Azad, 33, was charged in connection with the alleged rape of a 14-year-old boy in the city on 11 August

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said he had also been charged with stalking a woman in her 20s over the course of a year and causing criminal damage to a family member’s car.

Home Office figures show 768 migrants crossed the English Channel in small boats during the seven days up to 11 September. Around 17,250 people have made the crossing since the start of the year. Let readers know what you think
