The Russian leader also noted that in some countries today, traditional family values ​​are being ‘effectively abolished.’ Russia, for its part, intends to support those who, due to such pressure, come to Russia to live and raise their children, he assured.

‘We are generally striving to create all the conditions necessary to increase the number of large families in Russia. We are consistently building our national projects around the interests of families with children,’ Putin said.

‘And it’s gratifying that the number of families like yours is growing. So are the number of young people who would like their future families to have two, three, four, or more children.’

He emphasized that the state will continue to work in all areas that are important and meaningful for Russian families.

This includes high-quality modern education and healthcare, a comfortable living environment in cities and towns, and opportunities for development and self-fulfilment, especially for children.

Cash incentives

As a reminder, Russia began accepting applications for a new annual family payment, the so-called tax cashback, on June 1. It will allow families with children to recoup more than half of their personal income tax paid for 2025.

Officially employed parents will receive a recalculation of their tax at a reduced rate of 6%.

This measure applies to families with two or more children under 18 (or 23 if they are full-time students at a higher or secondary educational institution).

Tax cashback is available if the average per capita income for each family member does not exceed 1.5 times the regional subsistence minimum.
