President Donald Trump has boasted that US forces are behaving like pirates as he boasted about the capture of tankers and cargo ships attempting to breach the illegal American blockade of Iranian ports.
Oil Prices Soaring
Oil prices surged past $120 a barrel this week for the first time since 2022. Unsurprisingly, Trump’s approval rating fell to 34%, a record low in Reuters/Ipsos polling.
Speaking at the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches Dinner in Florida on Friday, Trump recalled how a destroyer fired at the Iranian-flagged cargo vessel Touska near the Strait of Hormuz on April 19 before it was boarded by US Marines.
‘We’re like pirates, ’ he gloated
‘We took over the ship. We took over the cargo, took over the oil. It’s a very profitable business. Who would have thought we were doing that? We’re like pirates. We’re sort of like pirates,’ Trump said, prompting laughter in the audience.
Iran has condemned the seizure as illegal, with a government source telling Press TV this week that US piracy and banditry would be met with an unprecedented response.
Iran closed its territorial Strait of Hormuz, which handles roughly one-fifth of global oil trade, to enemy nations’ ships shortly after the US and Israel launched their bombing campaign on February 28.
The US declared a naval blockade of Iran last month as the countries agreed to a ceasefire.
Trump said on Friday that he was ’not satisfied’ with Iran’s latest peace proposal and hailed the blockade as ’incredible.’

Y’know, Pirates were actually Kool, and very “Democratic” —Hate to use that word—in the sense that they all voted for the Captain of their choice to lead the crew, who was usually the guy who they thought could bring them the Most BOOTY—Riches and Human entertainment–heh heh, was selected as “Captain”. Also –The crew divided their “Plunder” equally for the most part–with the Captain ,and maybe 2 or 3 Seconds getting a slightly larger share. They lived by a “Code” and if they broke the “Code” they could be Marooned–Nice ending–with a pistol and one bullet and a bottle of Rum on an unlivable island or rock —OR they could be “Keel-hauled” which was pretty much a death sentence, OR they could be made to
“Walk the Plank”–which Hollywood Loves. Either way, their Lifestyle was a LONG way from the Predatory Zionist “Steal their Resources” Piracy that The Trumpstein and his Globalist Masters engage in from Venezuela to Syria to Greenland to Tariffs, to tyring to crack and control Iran. Oh I might add to the Pirate narrative that it was risky to be a Pirate!( Gee, imagine that) as in if you were a Pirate, you could be Hunted for Life by the Authorities. If you were caught -you were given a Brief “Trial” ( motion of Law) and Dipped in boiling Tar and put in a Cage in a prominent road in town-along with others who were caught, and dangled there in your cage for years often, as a Warning to others, to not live the Pirate Life. Even if you “Retired” from pirating, and lived on an island in the middle of no-where just screwing the native girls, if “The Law” caught you, you were still given the above mentioned ending. Hanging was considered “Too Merciful”!!—Ouch!
