Trump’s War on Iran throttles America’s Allies

Sanctions Payback Time: The Strait of Hormuz won’t return to pre-war status quo, according to a top Iranian official.

The key waterway is closed for the US and its allies. However, ships from other countries are able to use it. The official told this to Russian media.

The waterway remains effectively closed. Around 20% of seaborne crude oil trade passes through this waterway. The closure is due to the fighting during the past month.

The deadlock has caused economic strains for many countries. In the US, gas prices surpassed $4 per gallon earlier this week.

The Iranian official said in an interview on Thursday. He stated that the ‘conditions in the Strait of Hormuz will not return to the pre-war status quo.’

At the moment, transit through the waterway remains operational. However, ships need approval from the Iranian side. They also require the flag state of the vessel to establish contact with Tehran.

He added, ‘To date, the enemy or its partners have not received permission for their vessels to pass.’ referring to the US, Israel, and their allies.

The Iranian authorities have established a secure route through the strait, the official said.

‘There is insecurity caused by American aggression across various parts of the Persian Gulf. Therefore, this corridor remains the only viable path for the transport of goods and products.’

He also urged the international media. They should ignore the disinformation campaigns by the US-Israeli side. This includes ignoring [US President Donald] Trump personally.

‘Iranian regulation and control over the Strait continue and will persist,’ he said.

On Thursday, Trump addressed the nation. He suggested that countries dependent on oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz should act more courageously. They should take control of their own shipping routes.

He claims that the waterway could open up naturally after the war ends, without providing details. However, Trump has no more influence on the matter of the strait’s opening tan a New York cab driver.

Earlier this week, the Iranian parliament approved a new regime. Tehran will collect payment from ships they allow to traverse the strait.

Lloyd’s List magazine said earlier that one vessel has already paid $2 million for transit. Tasnim news agency estimated that Tehran could make around $100 billion annually. This would be under the scheme once traffic in the strait is fully restored.

FOOTNOTE: The Law of Unintended Consequences is an adage. It states that foolish interventions in complex systems, particularly in government policies, almost always produce unanticipated outcomes. These outcomes are often undesirable and occur alongside or instead of intended results. The saying highlights the limitations of human foresight and control.

  1. I usually like Galloway’s commentary and agree with him on the world rooting for Iran, but when he endorsed the flimsy holocaust story, I doubted his sincerity. I understand laws are different in Engeland and Europe regarding criticizing the jew and its lying nature, but even as the laws are changing in the same direction in the US, I refuse to comply.  That said, I’m happy the laughable “moon mission” hasn’t quelled people’s distaste of Trump and his jewish fanaticism. Get that? Not even a so-called SPACE MISSION is getting people in the US to lay off of the current Israeli land-grab (Oded Yinon Plan) attempt. Robert
