Like tens of millions of others, I watched, enjoyed, and was inspired by the 1972 movie, Death Wish. Starring Charles Bronson as Dr Paul Kersey, the James Garfield novel is a vigilante action-thriller.

In the film, Paul Kersey, an architect leading a peaceful life, resorts to vigilantism after his wife Joanna is murdered and his daughter Carol Kersey is raped during a house robbery by the low-lifes of New York.

Death Wish

At the time of its release, Death Wish was criticised for its support of vigilantism and its advocacy of unlimited punishment of criminals.

The film was a commercial success and resonated across the world, which was experiencing increasing crime rates during the 1970s.

Citizen Vigilante

Citizen Vigilante is a 2026 vigilante action thriller film produced, written, and directed by Uwe Boll.

It stars Armie Hammer as Michael Sanders, a vigilante enraged by the breakdown of law and order who targets criminals and corrupt officials, most of whom are migrants,

The film was released in select theaters in North America and digitally on June 19, 2026.

It was praised by several conservative figures. In Germany, the film was banned after Muslims complained.

Citizen Vigilante cannot be shown in German theaters, advertised, or sold in most stores.

Elon Musk subsequently promoted the film and made it available for free on X for two days, during which the first 6 hours it was viewed over 10 million times.

Plot

In an unnamed European city, a young mother is fatally stabbed in front of her son by a passing migrant. A news report states that parents are afraid to let their children play outside and that women avoid going out after dark.

Michael Sanders is a former U.S. Army officer who moved to Europe after inheriting his estranged father’s real estate business.

He secretly operates as the Vigilante Citizen, a ruthless vigilante who targets those who have escaped justice.

The Movie

It is not as well written, as gripping and as believable as Michael Winner’s Death Wish.

In fact, it was only during the last thirty minutes of the 120-minute movie that the latest vigilante thriller became enjoyable and credible.

In Death Wish, the grieving and embittered Paul Kersey targets only lowlife criminals.

Citizen Vigilante goes the extra mile by not only targeting and eliminating the migrant assailants, rapists and murderers; it also targets the enablers and apologists of the migrant invasion.

The enablers

Judges who pass lenient sentences on migrant criminals are especially held to murderous accounts. One can assume that the political elite will also be singled out as accessories and accomplices of the migrant underworld.

Could Citizen Vigilantism catch on?

It already has: In Ireland, vigilante groups are already being formed for the purposes of targeting not migrant criminals but the political and media enablers and apologists for the population displacement taking root across the UK and Europe.
