Brace for cost and casualties worse than the Vietnam War

TRUMP’S WARS The US-Iran conflict is now fighting on three fronts. This conflict is causing devastating damage to US military assets across West Asia.

Drone strikes and missile attacks are leading to thousands of casualties and billions in losses.

A new report by The Times explores the heavy toll the war on Iran is taking on the United States. It affects both human lives and military assets.

For the first time ever, American forces face a fully capable, formidable adversary, rather than irregular militias.

The consequences have been severe. Iranian missile and drone strikes have destroyed or wrecked multiple US bases across West Asia.

Catastrophic losses

High-value equipment has been totally destroyed. This includes an E-3 Sentry AWACS radar aircraft at Prince Sultan Airbase in Saudi Arabia. These assets are irreplaceable.

Drone attacks have been a particular challenge. Iran’s Shahed-136 one-way attack drones, carrying 50kg warheads, have repeatedly penetrated US missile defenses, causing extensive damage.

The big secret

No information is available on American casualties. Reports indicate they are already soaring to a level unknown since the US invasion of Vietnam.

We must remember that highly sophisticated drone and missile retaliation in 2026 is far more effective. The kill-ratio is greater than it was back in the Vietnam War era.

Vietnam War Mk II

Analysts say the Pentagon failed to adequately learn from recent conflicts, leaving US forces vulnerable to mass drone strikes.

The situation has been complicated further by Russian and Chinese support for Iran. The Kremlin is providing base coordinates and supplying upgraded drones such as the Geran-1 and Geran-2.

Damage to US bases across the region is estimated at nearly $1.5 billion and soaring by the hour. This highlights the scale of the challenge the Pentagon faces in confronting a modern, technologically capable adversary.

Damage assessment

Prince Sultan Airbase, 60 miles south of Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, has been repeatedly targeted. A drone strike on March 1 killed one service member, and five KC-135 tankers were damaged on March 13.

The base suffered a major attack on March 27, with 29 drones and six ballistic missiles striking, destroying an E-3 Sentry AWACS aircraft, damaging several tankers, and wounding 15 soldiers, five seriously.

Incalculable loss of assets

Other US facilities have also faced significant attacks. A $1 billion radar system at Umm Dahal, near al-Udeid Airbase in Qatar, was destroyed on March 7.

The US Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain was hit on February 28. The attack damaged radar and communications equipment. The equipment is valued at $200 million.

Many US troops slain

Drone strikes at Shuaiba port in Kuwait on March 1 killed many US troops, and bases including Ali al-Salem and Camp Buehring suffered further damage in early March.

American airbases in the UAE, Jordan, and Iraq have also been hit.

Al-Dhafra Airbase lost several MQ-9 Reaper drones. Each drone is valued at $30 million. Jordan’s Muwaffaq Salti Airbase lost a $500 million air defense radar.

Fuck Israel

Erbil and al-Asad airbases in Iraq have also been targeted. The US has expended large stocks of Tomahawk and other missiles.

This raises concerns about the cost and scale of the conflict. It may influence President Trump’s push to end the war quickly, with or without a formal peace deal with Iran.

Iran promises the best is yet to come

On April 2, an Iranian political-security official spoke to Al Mayadeen. He confirmed that Tehran plans to gradually increase its missile launches in the coming period.

The official said this escalation will occur alongside intensified operations by the resistance axis. These operations will target enemy interests across the region.

Death by a thousand cuts

The official emphasized that Iran’s strategic plan will focus on destroying radar and defense infrastructure. This aims to weaken adversaries’ military capabilities. At the same time, it bolsters Iran’s own defense posture.

He stressed that strikes on enemy military assets will continue without interruption until deterrence is achieved.

Iran on the rampage

Highlighting Iran’s military readiness, the official described the country’s missile arsenal as vast and advanced.

He warned that it could take adversaries by surprise, given recent combat experience.

He added that Iran is capable of defending itself and launching sustained operations over an extended period.

He cautioned that any attack on Iranian infrastructure would prompt severe and unexpected retaliation. Tehran, he said, is determined to maintain the initiative and respond decisively to pressure from its adversaries.

Iran will continue military operations until the US and Israel surrender. Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces, stated this.

“This war will continue until your complete humiliation, defeat and capitulation,” the Mehr news agency quotes him as saying.
