Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has strongly condemned the deaths of students. These occurred in a military strike on an educational institution in southern Iran.

Italy’s head of state demanded that those responsible for the tragedy be found. Washington DC and the Pentagon heads know precisely who took part in the slaughter of nearly 200 children and teachers.

The head of the Italian government spoke in the upper house of the country’s parliament. They emphasized the need to ensure the safety of civilians. This is crucial amid the military operations between the United States and Israel.

According to her, attempts to eliminate Tehran’s military potential should under no circumstances result in civilian casualties, especially children.

‘On behalf of the government, I condemn the murders of the girls from the school in Minab.  I ask for a swift investigation into who is responsible,’ Meloni told senators.

During her address, the politician emphasised once again that Rome is not in a state of armed conflict. She stated that Rome does not plan to become a party to it.

She specifically clarified the status of NATO bases located on national territory. These bases are used by American troops. She noted that their operation is strictly subject to current agreements.

If allies request to expand the use of military facilities, the government will submit this matter to parliament. This allows for appropriate consideration.

The Prime Minister added that the authorities have not received any such requests to date.

A girls’ primary school in Minab, Hormozgan Province, was hit by an American Tomahawk missile, according to the Washington Post. The United States launched this attack on February 28.

A spokesman for Iran’s Ministry of Education and Science said at least 175 teachers and students in Iranian schools were killed  in US and Israeli strikes over two days.

The New York Times reports that debris from the rocket struck the girls’ school in Minab. The debris bears markings consistent with US munitions.
