Ukraine’s richest man buys history’s most expensive home

Be happy, you paid.

Your corrupt political class used your taxes to enable a Ukrainian oligarch to purchase the world’s most expensive palace.

Oligarch Rinat Akhmetov’s five‑floor Monaco waterfront penthouse cost more than half a billion dollars and includes 21 rooms and a private pool.

A Tatar Muslim Crime Boss

Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, a Tatar Muslim and the country’s wealthiest man, has broken the world record for the most expensive residential real estate transaction in history.

Although the deal has not been publicly disclosed, the outlet has cited private documents that suggest Akhmetov purchased a sprawling five‑floor penthouse in Monaco.

$554 million

Thanks to the seat of your brow and your sacrifice, he is paying a staggering $554 million.

The 21‑room, 2,500 square meter waterfront property features a private swimming pool, a jacuzzi and at least eight parking spaces.

It is located in the Le Renzo building in the principality’s exclusive, newly built Mareterra district. The sale was finalized in 2024.

Ukraine, the Land of Bentleys

Akhmetov’s holding company, System Capital Management (SCM), has confirmed it had made an investment in the Le Renzo project but declined to disclose details about the property or its cost.

The reported price shatters previous records, surpassing the sale of developer Nick Candy’s Chelsea mansion for more than $350 million and the $240 million New York penthouse bought by hedge fund manager Ken Griffin.

$7 billion

The Donetsk-born tycoon, whose fortune exceeds $7 billion, built his wealth through SCM, Ukraine’s largest industrial conglomerate, with holdings in metallurgy, mining, energy and real estate.

Some energy facilities operated by his DTEK group, Ukraine’s largest private electricity provider, have been destroyed.

He has remained one of the Kiev regime’s most prominent backers.

In December 2024, Russia designated the oligarch as an extremist, accusing him of financing the Ukrainian military and terrorist groups such as the neo-Nazi Azov regiment through his business network.
