I’LL NEVER MEET MY MAKER

I’LL NEVER MEET MY MAKER

.

I will never meet my Maker,

He can’t see folk like me;

He never has a moment

There are many at his knee.

.

But I will meet his herald,

Who’ll treat me kind and fair,

And I will tell him hard I tried,

Yet it’s the same down there.

.

Corrupt and weak, they’re sinful,

They dwell in a human drain,

They’re set upon their sinful ways,

They heed you not, they’re vain.

.

He took me gently by the hand,

Explain to God, said he.

But, envoy, sir, God’s busy so,

He has no time for me.

.

You’re wrong, my son, he murmured,

For where you are is clear;

You jumped the queue to saintliness,

In God, you have no fear.

.

He’ll see you ‘fore much lesser men,

Your life was led by right,

And when your comrades faltered,

You never left the flight.

.

  1. I met HIM at stroke 1 and it is why all fear is banished, it is what the voice said.

    For HE is mighty!
