WHO WILL SPEAK FOR EUROPE?

WHO WILL SPEAK FOR EUROPE?

.

Will stars continue shining,

When Europe is no more,

Will sunsets and the sunrise,

Be as they were before?

.

Those stars shone bright on ancient Rome,

In Greece, the Parthenon;

But will they still be shining,

If Europeans are gone?

.

The stars stand silent witness,

To legends over time,

Those who built our empires,

Cultures still sublime.

.

I scarce can bring myself to think,

Such pain and degradation,

To see the remnants of our folk,

Confined to reservation.

.

Like native others back in time,

For us, the stars no longer shine,

Will fate be drunk as bitter wine?

Such a cenotaph for us.

.
