In Britain’s Premier League, kneeling to Black Lives Matter (BLM) before a match is now a widespread practice. The UK’s ‘rainbow alliance’ adding gesture politics to their repertoire claim it is meant to express their opposition to racism and show solidarity with the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement. The BLM claims to be an anti-racist organization but is notorious for provoking division and being responsible for mass riots and murders following the death of George Floyd during his arrest.
Prior to the Poland-England 2022 World Cup qualifier at Wembley Stadium in London, the Polish internet was pulsating with speculation about whether Poland’s national team would also take the knee and surrender to BLM.
However, the Polish players rebuffed pressure and refused to kneel, according to Polish news outlet Dorzeczy. The decision of the Polish players caused a storm on social media, yet the majority of comments supported the Polish players.
Solidarity Poland MP Mariusz Kałużny wrote, ‘They did not kneel. In this crazy world there remain those who are rational. I’m proud of being a Pole!’
The sport channel of Polish public television TVP emphasised the importance of the Polish players’ gesture, announcing that refusing to kneel meant that ‘Poles have respect for all rules of fair play.’
The Polish Football Association (PZPN) also released an official statement concerning the matter of Polish players not kneeling. It emphasised that the gesture of the Polish national team was neutral and apolitical.
The match ended in 2-1 for England. Harry Kane and Harry Maguire scored goals for England while Jakub Moder scored for Poland. Despite not playing with their star player Robert Lewandowski due to his injury, the Polish team put up a fight and almost ended the match in a 1-1 tie.

Prior to the match, the head of PZPN, legendary Polish football player Zbigniew Boniek, voiced his opposition to any Polish player kneeling for BLM during the match.
‘I am absolutely against such gestures. This is clear populism because nothing is done because of it. Footballers sometimes kneel and if you’d ask some of them why they’re kneeling, they wouldn’t even be able to tell you why,’ he said.
The Polish government has also expressed its opposition to Black Lives Matter in the past, with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki saying last year that safeguarding traditional values is particularly important for countries like Hungary and Poland in the face of the violence of the Black Lives Matter movement.
‘When historical monuments are being destroyed in the United States and some parts of Europe, we want to counterbalance this destruction with positive programs. We must ensure that Central Europe remains an oasis of common sense and peace,’ he said. Source

I never thought I would make a positive comment when dealing with Poles, but there´s a first time for everything — congratulations! Also 2:1 defeat against a powerhpouse like England is really quite something, again – congrats and that WITHOUT Lewandowsky? WOW!!

I can’t actually remember when I gave up caring if an English team, or any British team, won or lost. As the ‘knee benders’ don’t represent me or mine, or any of the heritage, culture, and traditions that my forebears (often misguidedly) fought for, then they are an irrelevance.

It´s all rather sickening, sort of like Formula One auto racing. Mercedes Benz, without the slightest degree of necessity, without even minimal historic relevance changed the color of their racers to black. What international automobil racing has to do with BLM is rather mysterious and to pay homage to such a twisted, hate filled movement which has as its aim our very destruction is pervers.
