The USS Abraham Lincoln. The Incredible Hulk

With shades of the ill-fated USS Liberty, the doomed aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, which is participating in the hapless naval blockade of Iran, has become the focus of Western media attention.

According to The New York Times, Democratic senators are demanding answers from the Pentagon regarding the plight of the ship’s crew.

The USS Abraham Lincoln has not entered port for over 200 days. According to MS Now, the mental health of the service members is suffering from harsh living conditions, food shortages, and hygiene supplies. Military Times reports several cases of desperate sailors jumping overboard.

In correspondence with relatives, crew members complained about their conditions and spoke of death. Meanwhile, the Trump regime has expressed its willingness to continue the blockade of Iran indefinitely.

Dire Situation

Western media are actively commenting on the dire situation aboard the American aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln. The incredible hulk with 5,000 American service personnel aboard is fatally involved in the US aggression against Iran.

According to numerous reports, the hardships of an extended deployment in the Arabian Sea have seriously undermined the sailors’ mental health.

Senate Democrats are demanding an explanation from Secretary of War Pete Hegseth following reports of deteriorating conditions aboard the aircraft carrier, which is supporting American operations in the Middle East.

Serious Concerns

On Wednesday, August 12, Senator Richard Blumenthal sent Hegseth and Acting Navy Secretary Hung Kao a list of questions reflecting serious concerns about the impact of the USS Abraham Lincoln’s extended deployment.

A floating Hell

‘There were numerous reports of shortages of essential supplies, contaminated water, plumbing problems, deteriorating mental health, safety issues on deck, and disruptions in the postal system that delayed many packages bound for the ship for months,’ the Democrat wrote.

Crew Suicidal

Earlier this week, Military Times reported on several suicide attempts among aircraft carrier crew members.

‘The Navy has not provided precise figures on the number of sailors who have attempted to jump overboard or harmed themselves aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln during the current deployment,’ the publication said.

Is the 9/11 Mk. II?

The ship left its home port of San Diego last November. It has been on combat duty for more than 250 days since arriving in the Middle East to fight in the war against Iran, which is now in its sixth month.

S.O.S.

‘According to Senator Richard Blumenthal, there are more than 5,000 sailors and Marines on board the ship who have not entered port for more than 200 days, a modern record for the most days continuously spent at sea,’ the news site writes.

MS Now reports that military personnel are suffering from ‘appalling’ living conditions.

‘Sailors wash in moldy shower stalls (sometimes without hot water), toilets are unusable due to plumbing problems, and the laundry has been out of order for weeks.

Distressing Living Conditions

There’s a shortage of food and toiletries like soap, toothpaste, and deodorant,’ the channel describes the hardships of the American sailors.

In correspondence with family and friends, members of the USS Abraham Lincoln crew share feelings of despair and hopelessness, Mediaite reports.

The Navy doesn’t care

‘This is the most difficult ordeal, and I pray nothing like this happens on any other ship,’ one crew member wrote to a relative. ‘The Navy doesn’t care. The mission will always come first.’

‘The food deliveries take so long that nothing fresh is included,’ a sailor complained in another message. ‘So, we had nothing fresh except meat, because it was frozen. Sometimes it arrives here rotten.

Many sailors, according to their relatives, said they would ‘die on this ship.

Calls for Hegseth’s resignation

Meanwhile, Democratic Congressman Seth Moulton told MS Now that authorities are lying about the conditions aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.

‘They’re trying to cover up everything, every aspect of this war, which has been a complete disaster,’ the politician argues.

‘Don’t forget that for weeks, the administration concealed the simple fact that many US military installations were destroyed.

The Pentagon Lies

The administration distorted casualty figures to hide how many service members died in this catastrophic war. The administration has repeatedly concealed the costs, including when questioned by our congressional committee.

So, their attempts to cover up the disaster on board the ship should surprise no one.’

Pentagon Can’t be Trusted

The congressman told reporters that a thorough investigation into the situation was necessary, since the head of the Pentagon ‘cannot be trusted.’

But, broadly speaking, we need to end this stupid war. And we need to fire Pete Hegseth,’ Moulton emphasized.

For his part, MS Now presenter Joe Scarborough harshly criticised the Minister of War for neglecting such basic things as rotation and control of ammunition quantities.

Crew is Expendable

‘Our sailors are treated like third-class citizens, like trash!’ Scarborough is indignant.

According to him, any other minister would have been fired long ago for the Iranian campaign, which turned out to be a failure for the United States.  Let readers know what you think
