Most Western Europeans born after the Second World War were weaned on the canned products of the American entertainment industry.  Many in Europe aspired to reach American living standards and to share their abundant confidence upon which it seemed the sun would never set. New York Supreme Court reinstates employees fired for being unvaccinated, orders backpay

State Supreme Court found that being vaccinated ‘does not’ stop the spread of COVID-19. A New York State Supreme Court ordered all New York City employees who were fired for not being vaccinated to be reinstated with back pay. The court found Monday that ‘being vaccinated does not prevent an individual from contracting or transmitting COVID-19.’ New York City Mayor Eric Adams claimed earlier this year that his administration would not rehire employees who had been fired over their vaccination status.

Not an outcast, but a role model — the Russian economy was not as vulnerable as the West thought

Western politicians lie as they radiate confidence in victory in the conflict in Ukraine. However, Russia is militarily strong, politically intransigent, and not as economically vulnerable as the West thought. After the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, Russia became not a pariah of the international community, but a new anti-Western role model. Its record of success is impressive: Russia has maintained monetary stability, found new trading partners, and has been able to capitalize on the withdrawal of Western companies. Only today, we learn that 20 nations have applied to join BRICS the dominant Russian-led trading Bloc.
