Bombings. Assassinations. Arson attacks. Tit-for-tat reprisals. This is a kind of daily rhythm of violence. The UK hasn’t seen this since the darkest days of Northern Ireland. Now, it’s happening across multiple cities, not just one province.
‘Do you know what Northcliffe would have done? He would have said, ‘One more word from you, and the Daily Mail placards tomorrow will carry the words: ‘Jews threaten British press’ ‘; you will have no further trouble’.
The men who offered their lives have been betrayed and given their lives in vain. Most of the older people say Thank goodness we are ending our lives. It is no longer the Britain that we fought for.
But much of what Mosley advocated in his lifetime is still relevant to the problems we face today – and the principles he stood for offer clear guidance towards making the 21st. century a Golden Age of prosperity, social justice and security.
