As part of its effort to crawl up Trump’s backside, Meta discontinued its controversial third-party fact-checking program in the US after Zuckerberg admitted the services had been ’too politically biased’ and ’have destroyed more trust than they’ve created.’
Comparatively smaller rivals to the Zuckerberg community, like GAB, MIND, and MeWe, are now outrunning Facebook. Other rivals, like global VK (VKontact or English InContact), are adding tens of thousands of Facebook refugees. Ironically, the Russian social media platform and main rival to Facebook has accumulated nearly 2 billion worldwide users.
