Mike

Liverpool born poet and writer Michael Walsh traces his Liverpool roots back to 1865. This was the year his Irish great-grandmother arrived in the Second City of Empire. His parents were born at the turn of what was to become the most tumultuous century in history. Michael's father, Patrick, fought in three major conflicts before reaching his fortieth birthday. His mother, Kathleen, was a former nun turned gun-running renegade.
On leaving school at 15 years of age, Michael spent 12 weeks at the Merchant Navy School for Sailors in Sharpness, Gloucestershire. During his years at sea, he was to visit and work in over 60 countries.
The journalist and broadcaster since provided articles and columns for numerous magazines and international news media. In 2011 he was awarded Writer of the Year by the publishers of Euro Weekly News, Europe's highest-circulation newspaper of its kind. He has authored, edited and ghosted over 70 book titles.

Churchill Rescues the Honour of Tsar Nicholas II

To better understand half-American Winston Churchill it is best to keep in mind that foremost the World War II warlord was an opportunist. A political chameleon, he changed sides of the House more times than he changed his women’s silk knickers, which he adored. It would be difficult to find anyone outside Hitler’s Germany to heap more praise on Adolf Hitler did. Winston Churchill had no problems changing his political rhetoric as the audience and opportunity required.

The hallmark of any independent institution is its ability to control its entrants. Yet when it comes to the nation, it can no longer control who enters. The 1951 UN Refugee Convention has shattered the ability of nations to control their borders.

Revival of Mothering and Nation Building

Millennial women are more likely than members of previous generations to delay childbearing, and much ink has been spilt as to why. Certainly, finances play a role. There also seems to be a loose-running theme among young women surrounding the fear of losing oneself by having children before one really knows who she is.

The European Union much less popular than Red Ruled Europe

In its latest EU-wide survey of citizens’ views, the EU’s spring ‘Euro barometer’ will not make for comfortable reading in Brussels. Despite the Eurorats’ usual attempts to extract some positives from the answers to its 29 questions with many possible answers for each, the simple fact is that only 23% of the 27 nation EU citizens said they’re in favour of the EU as it is today.
