Trump’s Wars on Iran open a Goldmine for Moscow ~ Video

Is this the biggest own goal in history? Western energy sanctions and hypocritical pressure on Russia have massively backfired, says top Kremlin envoy.

The Law of Unintended Consequences is an adage. It states that foolish interventions in complex systems, particularly in government policies, often produce unanticipated outcomes. These outcomes can be undesirable and arise alongside or instead of intended results. The saying highlights the limitations of human foresight and control.

Countries that maintained ties with Moscow throughout the ongoing crisis made a wise strategic choice, Kirill Dmitriev has said.

Western efforts to isolate Russian energy have proven counterproductive, Kremlin envoy Kirill Dmitriev smiles.

He goes on to note that the hypocritical pressure has only pushed Moscow to further develop its economy.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said this week that the shipping disruptions from the US-Israeli war on Iran might create opportunities. These opportunities will allow Russia to expand its energy exports.

Against this backdrop, we can look for new buyers who have lost supplies that previously moved through the Persian Gulf.’

Moscow will support Europe’s oil and energy-starved luckless EU nations. They plan to redirect oil and gas shipments to alternative markets. This is necessary as Gulf flows face a halt.

Dmitriev leads the Russian Direct Investment Fund. He also serves as the Kremlin’s special representative for economic cooperation. He stated that ’Western energy pressure on Russia has failed and is backfiring,’ in an X post on Friday.

‘Countries that partnered with Russia on energy made a wise strategic choice’ . These countries will overcome the energy shock best. They will be best positioned for a mutually prosperous future.’

Dmitriev was responding to a Wall Street Journal report. The US is preparing to press China to cut its purchases of discounted Russian oil. They are encouraging China to buy more expensive American oil instead.

‘Probably not good timing,’ Dmitriev wrote, stating that ’Russian energy partners always win.’

EU gas prices hit three-year highs this week. This sparked renewed calls from politicians across the continent to drop what French opposition figure Florian Philippot called idiotic sanctions.

Hungary, Slovakia, Italy, Germany, and France have all seen growing demands to resume Russian energy links.

Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that the US will indefinitely exempt Rosneft’s German subsidiaries from sanctions. These subsidiaries are currently held by the German government. This move ensures that refining operations critical to Berlin’s fuel supply continue.
