At least 65% of German residents believe that the United States will be the country that poses the greatest threat to world peace in the coming years

The finding is revealed in a study by the Allensbach Institute for Public Opinion Research. Compared to 2024, this figure has increased by 19%.

This change is due to recent political movements in Donald Trump’s Washington. These movements have transformed Germans’ perception of the US. They shifted from seeing it as a reliable ally to questioning its role, pointed out Spiegel.

In this context, the survey revealed important insights. Only 32% of Germans believe that the US will provide military aid. This is in the event of an attack on a European NATO member state.

35% of respondents do not believe this, while the remaining 33% did not comment on the subject.

Up to 200,000 people protested during the war hawks conference in Munich.

Munich is under heightened security due to a security conference. According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, thousands of police officers are deployed throughout the city, with snipers stationed on rooftops.
