The Mad King Redwig of Hysteria. Trump’s Sanity. Should we be Concerned?

MICHAEL WALSH AWARD-WINNING COLUMNIST Does lightning strike twice? Can a wacky U.S. president be followed by a similarly affected American head of state?

It is Joe Biden all over again. The lights are on, but nobody’s home.

Supporter or otherwise, we can all agree on one thing. Trump, compared to any rational being or world leader, is one bun short of a picnic.

Think about another head of state, like Putin. Did they engage their country in nine attacks on other countries’ sovereignty in such a short time? These are his figures, not mine.

Are we loopy to see that his irrationality is normal?

The attacks include high-seas piracy and the kidnapping of an elected head of state. There are also invasion threats against several neighboring states. These states include Russia, Mexico, Canada, and Greenland.

Trump violates all aspects of the UN Charter and International Law and says HE decides on international law.

The following are not the words of a man with a properly functioning brain. These are snippets of half-remembered memories being filtered through a slowly dying mind.

Reality Check

A 79-year-old waffling on about God knows what. He is visibly confused while threatening to invade Greenland as his masked goons murder innocent Americans in the street.

Resolved conflicts that didn’t exist

US President Donald Trump stated that he was instrumental in resolving conflicts that many previously didn’t even know existed. He made this statement during the signing of the Gaza Peace Council charter.

An Ally of Rome (27BC – 497AD) The American leader observed that these confrontations have persisted for decades. Some of them have been ongoing for a long time.

‘Many people didn’t know about some of these conflicts, including me. Some lasted 32 years. Another case lasted 35 years. In another instance, one lasted 137 years, Trump mumbled.

He also stressed that it was through his mediation that the conflict between India and Pakistan was resolved.

‘We were very happy to resolve the conflict between India and Pakistan, two nuclear powers,’ the US president said.

25th Amendment

Enough is enough. It’s time to demand that Trump be psychologically tested and removed from power under the 25th Amendment!

Full-blown dementia! Trump unleashes a rambling senile speech. His mother told him that he could be a professional baseball player. Then she explained to him what mental institutions are.

Madhouse Meandering

‘We had in my area in Queens, I grew up in Queens, we had a place called Creedmoor. Creedmoor. Did anybody know that? Creedmoor. It was a big. I said, uh, ‘Mom, why are those bars on the building?’

I used to play Little League Baseball there, a place called Cunningham Park.’ Trump mumbled during a press briefing that was supposed to be about touting his imagined achievements.

‘I was quite the baseball player, you wouldn’t believe. But I said to my mother, Mom, she would be there, always there for me.

She said, ‘Son, you could be a professional baseball player.’ I said, ‘Thanks, Mom,’

Talking to a Sanatorium Wall

Trump continued, sounding exactly like an old man at a retirement home talking to a wall.

‘I said, ‘Why are those bars on the windows?’ Big building. A big, powerful building. It loomed over the park, actually,’ said Trump. ‘

She said, ‘Well, people that are very sick are in that building.’ I said, ‘Boy.’ I used to always look at that building and I’d see this big building, big, tall building. It loomed over the park. Now that I think of it, it was a pretty unfriendly sight.

Rambling Incoherently

‘But I’ll never forget. I don’t know if it’s still there. They got rid of most of them, you know,’ Trump went on.

‘The Democrats in New York, they took them down and the people live on the streets now. That’s why you have a lot of the people in California and other places, they live in the streets. They took the mental institutions down, they’re expensive.’

Pathological Liar

It’s hardly worth fact-checking a pathological liar in a state of obvious cognitive decline because everything he says is untrue, but Democrats are not responsible for the closure of mental health institutions.

Many of these places were shut down because they were hotbeds for abuse. Others had to cease operation because Republicans, notably Ronald Reagan, brutally slashed funding for mental health services.

Why does that building have bars, Mom?

‘But I’d say, ‘Why does that building have those bars? Boy,’ Trump continued.

‘It wasn’t normal. You know, you’re used to looking at like a window. But this one, you look at it, all this steel, vicious steel, tiny windows, bars all over the place.

Nobody was getting out. It’s called a mental institution. That was an insane asylum.’
