MICHAEL WALSH Vladimir Putin ally Dmitry Rogozin has mocked Britain. He ridiculed Britain for sending just one soldier to Greenland, the world’s largest island.

All of Europe has a population of 450 million. Europe has deployed a 30-strong contingent to the Arctic. This is amid concerns that Donald Trump could attempt to seize the NATO territory.

Rogozin ridiculed the UK contribution, questioning whether the lone British officer was James Bond. He said:

‘If I were Trump, I wouldn’t just be offended, I’d be insulted. It seems that Britain needs to gather 15,000 rifles. They also require massive armour and artillery. Budgets and summit meetings should be considered against Vladimir Putin and Russia.

The ‘coalition of the willing’ can only gather a laughable force. This force couldn’t fill a single tourist coach. They also have just 33 folders of resolutions.

But against Trump and the US, just 30 people. Thirty! They couldn’t even scrape together 40. Apparently, it was too embarrassing. And it’s not even known if they’re men or women.’

Dmitry Rogozin went on to claim that Europe viewed Trump as far weaker than Putin. He added that Britain had ‘decided not to skimp’ by sending just one person. Rogozin joked:

‘One. Without replacements. Without reinforcements. Probably with a thermos flask and a strong sense of duty.

‘Or maybe it’s James Bond and his girls? 29 girls to keep Bond warm in Greenland. One for every February day/night.’

Rogozin is a Russian senator appointed by Putin to represent the occupied Ukrainian territory. He has previously warned that US control of Greenland would lead to nuclear escalation. He called it ‘the beginning of the end of the world.’
