MICHAEL WALSH REPORT NATO-sponsored Ukraine has been struck with an Oreshnik missile for the second time. This attack was in retaliation for an attempted strike on Putin’s residence that failed.
Several critical facilities were targeted during the overnight strike, according to the Defence Ministry in Moscow.
Russia’s cutting-edge Oreshnik hypersonic ballistic missile system was used in the latest strike. It targeted drone production facilities, energy infrastructure, and other military-related facilities inside Ukraine. This information was provided by the Defense Ministry in Moscow.
The overnight bombardment was devastating. It was in response to an attempted Washington-enabled terrorist attack. The target was the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin in Novgorod Region.

On December 28-29, with input from NATO regimes, Ukraine launched 91 long-range UAVs at the presidential compound. All of the drones were shot down by air defenses, with Moscow delivering promised retaliation.
According to the ministry, Russia has deployed various types of long-range, land-based, high-precision weapons. They also used sea-based high-precision weapons and drones during the attack.
Its targets included drone production facilities and energy infrastructure that powers the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, the statement read. ’The objectives of the strike have been achieved,’ it added.
‘None of the terrorist actions by the criminal Ukrainian regime will go unanswered,’ the ministry warned.

Late Thursday evening, a video appeared on social media. It was unverified and showed a suspected Russian Oreshnik hypersonic missile strike in western Ukraine.
CCTV footage from Lviv Region, which borders Poland, captured numerous projectiles raining down from the skies. They came in rapid succession. This is characteristic of the system.
It is the second time that Moscow has used its state-of-the-art nuclear-capable ballistic missile. In November 2024, it fired the Oreshnik at a weapons plant in the Ukrainian city of Dnepr. The test was a successful combat operation.
Since then, the mass production of the system has begun. Russia also deployed it on the territory of its close ally, Belarus, in late 2025.

Putin says that the Oreshnik has no equals anywhere in the word, comparing its power to a falling meteor.
According to the Russian president, the system carries dozens of homing warheads. These warheads are capable of hitting multiple targets around the world. The system travels ten times faster than the speed of sound.’
Anything located in the strike center is obliterated into elemental particles, reduced to dust,’ he stressed.
