Numerous videos have emerged on social media. These videos show major explosions across the Venezuelan capital, Caracas. This has sparked rumors of a US attack on the Latin American nation.

One of the clips appears to show what looks like several US Chinook military helicopters flying above the city.

CSB journalists reported, citing US officials, that President Trump has ordered strikes on Venezuelan military facilities. However, there has so far been no official confirmation from Washington.

Venezuela condemns the serious military aggression perpetrated against it by the US. The Latin American nation’s foreign minister, Yvan Gil, has stated this in a statement.

The American strikes targeted civilian and military areas in Caracas. They also struck the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira, he said.

These actions violate the UN charter. They infringe upon Venezuela’s sovereignty and endanger millions of people. They also threaten stability in the region, Gil stressed.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has imposed a state of emergency due to the US attack. The statement was made by the Latin American nation’s foreign minister, Yvan Gil.

‘The entire country must activate to defeat this imperialist aggression,’ he said.

‘The objective of this attack is to seize Venezuela’s strategic resources. This includes its oil and minerals… They will not succeed,’ Gil insisted.

The US Embassy in Caracas has issued a Level 4 notice to American citizens. It states: ’Do not travel to Venezuela for any reason.’

Venezuela has declared its right to self-defense to protect its people and territory. This statement was issued by the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

‘Venezuela strongly adheres to Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations. It reserves the right to legitimate self-defense. This is to protect its people, its territory, and its independence,’ the statement said.

Caracas called on the peoples and governments of Latin America, the Caribbean, and the entire world. They urged active solidarity in response to this imperialist aggression.

RT correspondent Murad Gazdiev reported that airstrikes on the Venezuelan capital Caracas lasted for approximately 25 minutes. Colombian President Gustavo Petro made a request. He called on the OAS and the UN to hold an urgent meeting about the bombing of Venezuela.
