THE VOICE OF FREE EUROPE: Eureka! Why do so many ethnic Europeans take the knee to those of other threatening races who have overwhelmed their nations?
Why do so many ethnic Europeans behave submissively to unpopular politicians? These politicians are known for stealing from them and denying their civil rights.
Why do so many ethnic Europeans elevate non-Europeans to a status of superiority over their own ethnic kin?
Stockholm Syndrome

Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response. In this response, a victim develops positive feelings towards their captor or abuser. They may also develop empathy or a bond with them.
It is a coping mechanism. It is not a formal diagnosis. It can occur in various traumatic situations.
These include the occupation of their country and the relegation of their social status to that of a second-class citizen. Other examples are hostage scenarios, domestic abuse, and kidnapping.
The term originated after a 1973 bank robbery in Stockka, Sweden, where hostages developed an emotional attachment to their captors.
Characteristics of Stockholm syndrome
Sympathy and affection for captors: The victim develops loyalty toward the person. They may feel affection or sympathy for the abuser or captor.

Hostility towards authorities: The victim may also develop distrust or hostility towards law enforcement or those trying to rescue them.
Positive feelings toward captors: This can include defending the captor’s actions or even wanting to help them.
Emotional and psychological dependency: The bond develops as a survival strategy. It forms in response to stress, fear, and dependence on the abuser.
Situations where it can occur

Hostage and kidnapping situations: This is the situation the syndrome is named after.
Abusive relationships: It can occur in domestic violence, coercive relationships, and other abusive contexts.
Abusive bosses: Many employers disregard their ethical and legal obligations. Yet, they underpay their employees and threaten to fire them unless they work as submissive slaves.

Child abuse: Victims may develop a bond with their abuser.
Trafficking: It can occur in situations like sex trafficking or cult membership.
Important to note
It’s a coping mechanism, not a weakness: Stockholm syndrome is a complex response to trauma. It is not a sign of weakness on the part of the victim.
It is relatively rare: One FBI study found it occurred in about 8% of hostage victims. It’s not a guaranteed outcome of captivity.
Symptoms of trauma can co-occur: Individuals may also experience post-traumatic stress symptoms such as nightmares, flashbacks, or difficulty trusting others.
