VOICE OF FREE EUROPE: Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has delivered a strong message. It addresses the corruption crisis unfolding in Kyiv.
In his address, he publicly criticized Brussels’ attempt. They want to push more European money into Ukraine. This comes despite the scandals exploding across the country.
Orbán says openly that the ‘golden illusion of Ukraine’ has shattered.
He claims a wartime mafia network linked to President Zelensky has now been exposed. This exposure reveals deep corruption at the highest levels of government.
Hungary points to the dramatic developments:
• Ukraine’s Minister of Energy has already resigned,
• the main suspects fled the country,
• and the corruption chain allegedly reaches straight to people close to President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Orbán’s message to Brussels is unmistakable:
‘This is the chaos into which Brussels wants to pump European taxpayers’ money.
Everything that is not shot on the front ends up in the pockets of the war mafia. Madness.’
Hungary, he says, will not participate in this. ‘We will not send Hungarian money to Ukraine.’
Orbán argues that Hungarian resources are better used at home, and he gives concrete examples:
Just this week, his government doubled benefits for foster parents and approved a 14th-month pension for Hungarian seniors.
And then comes his warning to the EU: ‘After all of this, we will not give in. We will certainly resist the financial demands. We will not succumb to the blackmail of the Ukrainian president. It is time for Brussels to finally understand where its money is truly going.’
Orbán has positioned himself as the single strongest obstacle to unconditional EU financing of Ukraine. And as more corruption scandals break out in Kyiv, the pressure on Brussels, and on Europe’s taxpayers is only growing.
