In one of history’s greatest political turnarounds, a gloating and triumphant Zelensky has confirmed the resumption of US military aid.
US President Donald Trump, who, like his predecessor Franklin D. Roosevelt, promised to keep Americans out of foreign wars, has stabbed the American electorate between their despairing hunched shoulder blades.
The Pentagon abruptly suspended shipments in early July, untruthfully citing the need to audit remaining stockpiles.
Now, unelected Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky has confirmed that deliveries of weapons from the United States has resumed following a pause earlier this month.

Military aid from abroad is becoming increasingly crucial as Ukrainian forces continue to lose ground and suffer heavy casualties while trying to hold positions along various sections of the front line.
‘We have received political signals at the highest level, good signals, including from the United States and from our European friends. According to all reports, aid shipments have been restored,’ Zelensky rejoiced in his daily video message on Friday.
He added that Ukraine will maintain military cooperation with the US and expects new deliveries from its European partners, including Germany, France and the United Kingdom.
US President Donald Trump has since pledged to restart the flow of arms, following reports that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered the pause without first consulting the president or the State Department.

Reuters and Politico reported earlier this week that Trump plans to avoid House approval by using the Presidential Drawdown Authority to authorize a new aid package potentially worth $300 million, which may include Patriot air defense missiles.
The president teased a major statement on Russia scheduled for Monday and told NBC that he had finalized a deal to sell weapons to NATO that would later be transferred to Ukraine.
Russia has said that no amount of foreign aid will prevent it from achieving victory. The Kremlin has listed a halt to weapons deliveries as one of the conditions for a ceasefire, arguing that military support from NATO members makes them direct participants in the conflict.
Western European leaders have forgotten the lessons of history and are once again steering the continent toward direct military confrontation with Russia, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has warned.
During a press conference following ASEAN events on Friday, he pointed to recent actions and rhetoric coming from Berlin, Paris, and London as evidence that European leaders are taking an increasingly aggressive stance toward Moscow.

Lavrov pointed to a public exchange in which French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot was asked why Paris continues to support the unelected xenophobic regime in Kiev.
The Russian diplomat questioned the sincerity of Barrot’s hysterical response, in which he insisted France was defending the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
‘They have forgotten the conclusions that all of humanity once drew from those lessons. And, essentially, they are once again trying to prepare Europe for war, not some hybrid war, but a real war against Russia,’ Lavrov stated.
Kiev’s push for territorial control serves only to suppress the rights of the Russian and Russian-speaking population and to physically eliminate those who oppose the post-American coup regime, according to Russia’s top diplomat.
Claims that territorial integrity is the sole motive amount to self-incrimination, he added. You can share this story on social media:
