Vladimir Zykov, Director of the Association of Professional Users of Social Networks and Messengers, commented on the large-scale leak of passwords and logins from accounts of popular services
These include Apple, Google, GitHub, Telegram and social networks, but this list is not inclusive. FACT: You need to change your passwords, especially those accounts like Google, in which you store all your passwords.
‘It’s absolutely obvious: we need to urgently change passwords and, ideally, also urgently enable two-factor authentication for everyone,’ Zykov noted.

According to him, if hackers gained access to Google Chrome, Safari, where users store their passwords, then this is, of course, a very serious problem.
‘Many users have no idea what their logins and passwords are, on which accounts.
And this means that hackers could right now log into any other resources, such as banks, using the user’s login and password,’ the RT source noted.
In his opinion, the risks remain colossal.
‘If information has leaked onto the network, this already means that the user is in danger,’ Zykov emphasized.
Earlier, it became known about a large-scale password leak. Almost 16 billion passwords and logins from accounts of popular services, including Apple, Google, GitHub, Telegram and social networks, were publicly available.
Is 16 billion a lot? Could your private details now be accessible? The Earth’s total population of 8 billion is half that figure.
As of early 2025, approximately 5.56 billion people around the world are connected to the internet. That is about 67.9% of the global population. And of those users, around 5.24 billion are also active on social media. TELL US WHAT YOU THINK
