The concept was first proposed by English amateur archaeologist Alfred Watkins in the 1920s. The expert analyst suggested that ancient sites were knowingly and so deliberately aligned in straight paths for navigational purposes.

Over time, ley lines became associated with mystical energies, UFO theories, and spiritual beliefs, particularly within the New Age movement.

DISCOVERY

Much of Alfred Watkins professional life was spent travelling throughout Britain. His travels would lead him to pay attention to certain alignments between ancient pagan religious centers such as barrows, stone circles and standing stones, and even some early Christian churches, often built on the revered remains of older pagan shrines.

Watkins coined the term ley lines from the fact that the places where these lines crossed or ended often had names ending in -ley, -ly, lea or -leigh, which, in Old Anglo-Saxon, meant ‘meadow’, ‘clear land’ or ‘uncleared’.

Watkins claimed that these discovered lines were ancient pagan trade and processional routes, connecting ancient places of worship.

An antiquarian and archaeologist who, during his travels around Great Britain, believed he had observed that archaeological structures such as monoliths and churches formed straight lines in the terrain, thus giving rise to a new ideological movement known as ley lines.  

SANCTUARY HEALER CAROL EVERETT

Sanctuary Healer Carol Everett takes up her story as she reveals that her sanctuary in southern Spain is uncannily situated on the same ley lines as are some of the world’s best-known ancient temples, including Lourdes in France.   

‘My story, which is uncannily connected with ancient ley lines, has led me intuitively to high-energy places to work to help people.

‘In 1990, needing a more private place to live, our English home was put on the market. By nature of independent thought, I don’t often request help with my life. I prefer to go with my instincts, which proves to be more accurate, especially as the years of my life pass.

‘During my search for a home, I used my mental powers of intuition to cerebrally ask for a picture to show me what my future house would look like. Today, I have the picture I drew in 1990; other people are now living in this house.

‘Within a few days of drawing the picture, several homes were provided by the estate agent. I shrieked when I saw one of the pictures of the proposed house. The drawing was so accurate that I knew it had to be prioritized.

‘Before the detailed viewing, we walked through the gate, and I recognized every room and cranny before walking into or through it. Against all the odds, it became ours.

RORY DUFF LEY LINE EXPERT

‘Rory Duff, who is one of the world’s most renowned experts in ley line sciences, arrived after my work as a spiritual healer was endorsed. We have been friends ever since. Rory revealed to me that my new home was on a high-energy ley line.

‘This is called the St. Mary energy line. The ley line runs along the St. Michael alignment across the UK from Cornwall up to East Anglia.

‘All alignments, also called ley lines, have a pair of Earth Energy lines running sinuously along the alignment. The St Mary line’s pair is the St. Michael energy line.

‘These two energy lines are examples of the second most powerful type of Energy lines in the World. There are only 15 pairs of these alignments running through the UK.

MOVING TO SOUTHERN SPAIN

‘From January 2006, we had been looking at properties for a long time in Spain. Once again, I used my esoteric mental powers to ask the collective energies for an illustration. The drawings came into my mind quickly.

‘The estate agent took us to see a place and location within a few days of my completing my drawing.

In fact, I had the foresight to place my closed sketch pad lying closed on our car’s backseat. The drive to the house felt the same as all those years ago when I was looking for a new home in England. I experienced a deep sense of revelation.

REVELATION

‘Then, immediately after seeing the farmhouse, I left my husband chatting to the estate agent, and I picked up my sketch pad.

‘After showing the drawing of my premonition to the estate agent, her eyes opened wide in amazement. popped out of her head. ‘When did you do this, Carol?’ she asked.

‘I smiled as I explained to the agent that, acting on intuition, I had pencilled the drawing a week earlier.

‘How extraordinary,’ she smiled. ‘You must be physic. This is your house. I’m going to make sure you get it.’

‘A few years later, Rory Duff came to visit me on the farm. As we chatted, he explained to me in detail about the ley lines and energy lines there.

EMPEROR ENERGY DRAGON LINES

‘His research showed that one of the six Emperor Dragon energy lines ran through our home, adding that it ran through a node of energy lines. This extraordinary congregation of energy lines makes the healing sanctuary a powerful sacred site.

‘This sanctuary site in South East Spain is connected by these earth energy lines to one of the seven most powerful nodes (Sacred sites) in the World.

‘Located near Totana in Murcia, the ley line my sanctuary straddles runs North through Spain and to Lourdes in France.

‘The mysterious ley line then goes all the way through Europe and Russia to Kyoto in Japan, where it goes through another very powerful node on a small island at the Japanese Imperial villa gardens.

‘The emperor alignment then crosses down through the Pacific Ocean and into New Zealand, where it runs through another powerful node at Castle Hill.

‘The mysterious line then crosses the Southern Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean before going through Africa and Morocco, and then across the Mediterranean Sea back to the node, the sanctuary by my house.

‘In short, the node was on one of the six most powerful Emperor Dragon energy lines in the World that connects up to some very powerful sacred sites.

THE FIELD OF DREAMS

‘I always called this place The Field of Dreams, deserving of spiritually inspired modification. Doubtless, the sanctuary will attract visitors.

‘I have had eighteen years of hard work and dedication on this farm. It is not at all easy to live on these ley lines as they are for meditation and prayer.

‘Living on them amplifies all emotions, good and not so good, and that is what becomes too challenging; we need to have a balance. Mankind was never meant to live immediately on top of sacred sites like this.

‘Interestingly, I was talking to an American producer about the field of dreams back in 1999.

‘One of the production team who had earlier come to England had been featured in an advert to do with the field of dreams at an early part of his career; we had kept in contact. Though a lovely guy, he has now gone on to create his own field of dreams with a farm in a different way.

THE FUTURE

‘This sacred site has now been protected. However, I cannot live here all the time anymore. Pilgrims and the curious will come to meditate on farmland in front of the sanctuary homestead.

‘Organizers have offered to help me. Yes, the final patch of rare earth for the field of dreams will still have to be cleared. It is time to move on again.

‘I have drawn another picture, to be near the farm and to get back to what I came here to do. I have paid back my karmic debt to Nefertiti, and it is now time to run free and to see where my drawings lead me. For now, it has not just been the field of dreams; it has been all work.

‘I don’t work with logic when I do my drawings, which means I sometimes have to wait for other people to catch up.

‘Some media profilers, policemen and people may think I have ‘lost the plot’. They then need to look into my background as a healer, which has been internationally recognized by the highest academics.

THE GRAVITATIONAL PULL OF DESTINY

‘With my drawings, and with the other work I do, my esoteric instincts lead me. I call it ‘sniffing the winds.’

‘I am not a fortune teller. I see certain things that are good or bad for you; it’s the way people treat one another that determines our futures. Fate then takes you to where everything is determined and not by anyone else.

‘Sometimes, I have had to wait when working on crime cases. Hair styles change, people have used disguises, and they put on or lose weight. However, some things don’t change, like the eyes, which are the unalterable ‘windows to the soul’.

BELIEF IN GOD

‘Do I believe in God? Yes, I do, A doctor said to me years ago when no one understood me. Do you think your gift messages come from God? I said yes, they certainly don’t come from the other place.

‘Do I believe that Aliens can be absolutely good and bad? Yes, I only ever go to the highest point of collective energy.

‘These ‘Beings’ only ever help people to help themselves. Meditating on sacred sites helps you to receive a very powerful energy to help yourself. I don’t and never have claimed to create miracles.

THE HEALING PROCESS

‘The collective energies that I have aspired to have helped me a lot all my life. Rory Duff, when ill in hospital, received fourteen nights of high-energy remote healing.
