Sounded the alarm about dangerous defects of the car – now fired. An engineer who worked on electric vehicles for VinFast brand and sounded the alarm about dangerous flaws has been fired and blacklisted

Vietnamese automaker VinFast, founded only in the summer of 2017, has introduced several of its models and started selling its VF8 electric car in the US. However, according to an engineer who worked on the chassis, the company’s cars may have serious shortcomings in the chassis, which makes them unsafe.

The author of the alarming messages, Khazar Denli, worked for the Tata group of companies, which also includes Jaguar and Land Rover.

Working for the engineering division of Tata Technologies, which developed prototype cars for VinFast, he reported problems he had found during testing to his superiors. All to no avail. Redesigning the components would have cost money and delayed the car’s debut.

According to Denley, Tata has put car owners at risk. The faults found concern weak and poorly designed suspension components in VinFast vehicles, which can manifest themselves at mileages of less than 25,000 km.

The US authorities have already received 28 reports of safety problems, and a family of four died in a California accident.

After leaving Tata Technologies, the engineer moved to Jaguar Land Rover. After seeing reports of problems with Vinfast models , he posted about it on Reddit, which led to him being fired from his last job. Denli was also blacklisted from a job search platform, preventing him from working for other companies in the auto industry.

“All cars have their problems, but I would never drive a VinFast, and I wouldn’t let my loved ones do the same,” the engineer wrote in comments online.

Jaguar Land Rover, VinFast and Tata Group have remained silent and not commented on the engineer’s retaliatory firing.  VinFast, however, has said it is cooperating with US authorities on safety issues currently under investigation. PLEASE SHARE OUR PUBLIC SAFETY STORIES
