A man married a beautiful young woman, deeply in love with her radiant charm and warm heart. They shared a happy life together.
However, over time, she developed a rare skin condition that gradually began to affect her appearance. Watching her beauty fade, she became increasingly self-conscious and withdrawn.
One day, the husband had to leave on a business trip. On his way back, he met with a tragic accident that left him blind. Despite this misfortune, their love remained steadfast, and their married life continued as before.
As the years passed, her condition worsened, but the husband, now unable to see her appearance, showed no change in his affection.
He continued to treat her with the same love and care, reassuring her with his unwavering devotion. Her heart swelled with gratitude for his unconditional love.
One day, she succumbed to her illness, leaving him heartbroken. After performing her last rites, he decided to leave their town to start anew. As he was about to leave, a neighbor, concerned, asked, ‘How will you manage on your own now? Your wife used to guide you everywhere.’
The man turned to him and replied with a gentle smile, ‘I am not truly blind. I only pretended to be because I knew her illness made her feel insecure.
I wanted her to believe that her changing appearance didn’t matter to me. I loved her not for her beauty but for the kindness and love she carried in her heart. By pretending to be blind, I could spare her any pain or worry over something beyond her control.’

Moral of the Story
