ONE WORD THAT CHANGES LIVES

As we cope with life’s challenges and mediocrities, we often overlook what truly enhances our lives. The key word is ‘inspiration’.

INSPIRATION

Virtually everything we see, use and enjoy is the outcome of someone’s inspiration.

Wandering through art galleries and museums, bookshops, parks and gardens, why not pause to consider who it was or what it was that inspired the creation of each work of art.

“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.”

Often, a little exploring turns up nuggets of information more interesting than the work of art itself. The world of great music rarely gives us insight into the stories that actually inspired the music.

“Keep your face always toward the sunshine, and shadows will fall behind you.”

Great composers like Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Schubert, Richard Wagner, Anton Bruckner, Guiseppe Verdi and Haydn with other masters claim to have found their inspiration in God.

Many great songs start life as poems scribbled down by penniless poets.

Hans Leip, an 18-year-old World War I sentry could hardly foresee that his pencilled poem to his girlfriend (Lili) and Marlene, his friend’s sweetheart, would become the world’s most famous war ballad.

READERS’ COMMENTS WELCOME

As you read through a romantic novel the fictional hero or heroine is likely a portrayal of someone known to the book’s author.

As an author of over 70 books and approximately 1,800 poems, I concede that most if not all my output was stimulated by inspiration.

Even fictional novels like The Souls Meet, The Stigma Enigma and Retribution are based on real-life experiences and characters. The experiences remain unknown to anyone but me.

Whatever book you are reading is it really fiction or is there between the lines another story even more interesting?

I recall many a sleepless hour before dawn that inspired a book or poem. Some of my most acclaimed poetries were stirred by the tranquillity of night-time contemplation.

I avoid writing on topics that I am unfamiliar with because my books will be read by persons who are familiar with the subject.

These readers will immediately recognize my naivety with the story’s background or speciality. I recall my fascination with books being ruined upon coming across a passage when it became clear that the author was unfamiliar with the topic. Why? Because I knew the subject better than he did.

Jeffrey Archer and Wilbur Smith, in common with other famous name authors use ghost-writers to create a book out of their ideas.

Fine, but the ghost must be totally familiar with the writer’s style and be able to convincingly mimic the name that appears in a book. For this reason, my books personally written are inspired by life’s odyssey, romantic experiences and by past lovers.

Although I am likely Britain’s most prolific multi-topic author, I can say that my stories are within my experience. For this reason, my books on World War II, Africa, travel, crime, and of course romance is based on research or real-life experiences. PLEASE SHARE OUR STORIES ON SOCIAL MEDIA
