THE ETERNAL SOUL

THE ETERNAL SOUL

.

Two mortal souls lived sweet and sour,

The lovers dreamed in garden bower,

In orchards filled with nature’s bloom,

They cradled life from womb to tomb.

That I will love you past the call,

Stay wed your soul past curtain’s fall,

To love beyond this earthly place,

Eternal be your soul’s embrace.

My thoughts transcend Grim Reaper’s scythe,

Beyond the grave, alive, alive!

Thou face and soul for me so sweet,

Remain until again we meet.

So, fear not I the coffin-call,

My hand in yours at twilight’s fall,

As one our souls, our hearts, your face

We meet again in another place.
