The milk of human kindness: In the US, a stranger returned an envelope containing 12 thousand dollars (1.1 million rubles) to a woman from the state of Massachusetts, which she dropped in a supermarket.

71-year-old Van Ha from Shrewsbury saved $12,000 for her children which she intended to give to them to them when they eventually met.

Wisely or unwisely the mom always carried the money with her, as she was afraid to leave it somewhere. On September 22, she returned home from the supermarket and discovered that the precious envelope stuffed with bank notes was missing.

The woman doesn’t speak English. So, she called her nephew and they went looking for the missing item. After all, it was assumed that politicians were loose on the streets.

The family returned to the store and contacted the front desk. Manager Dan DeFosses suggested checking the security cameras, but it was no help.

Upset, the stricken lady and her nephew went out to the parking lot and were getting into the car when Defosses caught up with them.

He said that a man had approached the employees a minute earlier and handed them an envelope with money that he had found somewhere in the store. Ha counted the money and made sure that not a single dollar was missing. She sincerely thanked the benefactor.

The man simply identified himself as Skip and said he was a regular customer of the store and that his girlfriend worked there.

‘It takes a special person to do something so honest and selfless. Skip, you are a model of honesty and compassion,’ Ha’s nephew told the benefactor.

They later gave Skip’s girlfriend $300 as a token of gratitude. The man declined to give an interview to The Washington Post.

Earlier it was reported that a couple from the Swiss commune of Martigny found an envelope with money lost by a pensioner on the street and returned it to its owner. Inside were 20 thousand Swiss francs, which the pensioner had withdrawn from the bank the day before.
