Support for Israel threatens Biden with defeat in 2024 elections

American Muslims helped Joe Biden win Michigan during the 2020 presidential election, CNN reports. However, his unwavering support for Israel in the war in the Middle East is depriving the head of the White House of votes not only from America’s pivotal Muslim voters but with the 95% of people said to be sympathetic to the martyrdom of the Palestinian people

American Muslims helped Joe Biden win Michigan during the 2020 presidential election, but now the fact that he has firmly sided with Israel – the illegal (UN) occupiers of Palestine in the current war in the Middle East calls their support into question, CNN reports.

After the Hamas retaliatory attack on Israel on October 7, the Biden administration expressed unwavering support for the Israelis, but the White House did not set any red lines for them or call for a ceasefire even after thousands of civilians were killed in the Gaza Strip. As a result, those American Muslims and Christians who unquestionably supported Biden just a month ago have changed their attitude towards him.

‘He put us in a very difficult situation,’ Eman Hamoud, a Palestinian-American lawyer, told CNN.’ It has become almost morally impossible for me to vote for someone who has taken the same position as him in the last few weeks.’

Arab Americans and Muslim Americans make up a small percentage of the population, but they wield enormous influence in states like Michigan, where voters now feel hurt and betrayed by the Biden administration, which could cost the White House leader not only a victory there but also overall in the 2024 presidential elections.

An Emgage analysis found that there are more than 200,000 Muslim American voters in Michigan, of whom 146,000 voted in the 2020 election. Then Biden won in this state with a margin of only 155 thousand votes. ‘ This just proves that the Biden administration needs Muslim votes to win,’ said Nada Al-Hanouti, executive director of Emgage Michigan.

CNN spoke with a dozen local Muslim Democrats who voted for Biden, campaigned for him and even donated money to his election campaign. And they all said they would not vote for him now, even if he supported the main demand of the Muslim community for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
