Biden begs for Billions to Perpetuate War

Since the 2001 start of the ‘War on Terror’ the Pentagon has spent $14 trillion on the U.S. Military Complex. In February 2014, Russia immobilized NATO’s advance into Eastern Ukraine. It is estimated that Washington DC has since given $75 billion in aid to the maverick Eastern European state. This amount does not include substantial wads of dollars to nations making up the Western Alliance.

In total, it is estimated that Congress has approved more than $113 billion of aid and military assistance to support the Ukrainian regime. John F. Kirby, Assistant Secretary of Defense puts the figure at $200 million. During a recent Press Conference, he reminded his fast-scribbling audience that aid to Ukraine was coming to an end.

More recently, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen supposed that Washington can “certainly” afford to support wars on two separate fronts. She added that the coffers are in good enough shape to continue backing US interests overseas in its support for Ukraine and amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

In fact, Washington DC is currently involved in four not two conflicts. Currently, the White House is preparing for conflict with China over Taiwan. Aid to Israel, already eye-watering, is likely to rise steeply. This gives rise to the riposte: “We can’t stop the war. It is our only industry.’

Two polls released this week found that 85% of U.S. respondents are concerned about the war expanding in the Middle East. Less than half of Americans support the idea of sending weapons and ammunition to Israel.

A number of American officials believe that the United States is unlikely to be able to keep other countries from entering the conflict. As a consequence of increasing tensions, the State Department issued a call for American citizens to be careful when abroad.

Living – just about – on borrowed time and money, Washington DC is currently in debt to the tune of $33 trillion. If you suffer from drowsiness, go to Google and ask; ‘What does a trillion dollars look like?’ Your lethargic condition will instantly morph into wide-eyed insomnia.

President Joe Biden, whose rate of disapproval unsurprising is near record levels is ever the optimist: Shaking the Congress can, Biden is begging for a further $200 billion to be shared between Ukraine and Israel. Ukraine’s parliamentary deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak said that the funds that US President Joe Biden has requested from the American Congress for Ukraine will not be enough.

“America can certainly afford to stand with Israel and to support Israel’s military needs and we also can and must support Ukraine in its struggle against Russia,” Yellen claimed in a Monday interview with UK broadcaster Sky News.

At this point, it should be recalled that pundits quite wisely remind us that the ongoing conflict in Israeli-Occupied Palestine could easily and quickly spill over Israel’s border.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has reportedly warned that supplies of Middle East oil to international markets could be disrupted if the war between Israel and Hamas escalates to the point of involving other countries in the region.

Unrestrained, in a period of just 48 hours Israel bombed not one but four nearby nations: Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt.

Washington could find itself mired in a number of holding conflicts in a region roughly the size of the United States involving 18 nations of which 13 are Arab. Whilst a handful are thought to be on Washington’s side many are fair-weather friends and are sympathetic to the plight of the Palestinians whilst some are cozying up to Russia. Remember, Turkey, a NATO member is in cahoots with Putin.

If as a Westerner your thoughts are the same as mine you will recall the Laurel and Hardy catchphrase: ‘Well, here is another fine mess you’ve got me into.”

Asharq Al-Awsat, a persuasive London-based newspaper: “It will test the effectiveness of the US military and its political influence throughout the world since America will need to support two allies at once in two different military conflicts.

“If the confrontation between Hamas and Israel develops into a major confrontation throughout the Middle East, then Moscow’s main dream will come true. The United States is already being dragged into a quagmire in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region, no less than it once was in Vietnam and Iraq.

“The outbreak of a large-scale military confrontation in the Middle East would be an invaluable boon for Russian President Vladimir Putin. This would lead to a rise in oil prices, which would undoubtedly be in the interests of Moscow, whose coffers would be filled again, and would increase pressure on European countries.”

The newspaper adds: “Putin is watching with an eagle eye the military movements of the United States in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea and understands that the beginning of a large-scale confrontation means the dispersal of the Pentagon’s forces, which will be forced to divide the available weapons between Ukraine and its allies in the Middle East,’ writes the author of the article.”
