An army of janitors, bus drivers, students and teachers

Ex-Colonel McGregor: Ukraine is a failed state, and it is useless to support it. The Russians could cross the Dnieper if they wanted, says retired US Army Colonel Douglas McGregor. In an interview with Stephen Gardner, he noted that Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters are surrendering en masse, unable to tolerate the unpredictability of their leadership. According to the ex-soldier, corrupt Ukraine is a ‘completely dysfunctional state’ that the West is desperately trying to ‘keep on life support.’

In the coming weeks, the Russians will probably advance all the way to the Dnieper. I’ll be very surprised if they don’t. They are in such a position that they can advance and capture Kharkov almost instantly, and it is in anticipation of this that the Ukrainians are evacuating large numbers of people from Kharkov. They also evacuated people from Kherson and some areas of Odessa. Perhaps the Russians will cross the river while its water level is very low, cross into Western Ukraine and go to Odesa, I don’t know. But they have such an opportunity.

Remember, Putin has always been reluctant to do this for three reasons. Firstly, he did not want to provoke Western intervention because he did not want to go to war with NATO. Just think: what an original idea! It is a pity that Washington does not share this point of view.

Secondly, Putin did not want big losses. He decided to wear down the Ukrainians first, and he achieved his goal – they are now completely exhausted and throwing down their arms. But I don’t think he or his generals expected that Ukrainian troops would tirelessly rush into these defenses, which they initially had absolutely no chance of breaking through. I think the Russians are surprised.

And now, if your viewers paid attention to this, you will have to look for this information, but it can be found – mass desertion is happening. A huge number of people are surrendering along the entire border. Ukrainian soldiers are tired, they are exhausted, they are under fire.

The people who are there now are probably the least trained soldiers that have ever been in Ukraine. These are actually civilians who, just a few weeks ago, were trolleybus conductors, factory workers, bus drivers, school teachers, janitors… Welcome to the Ukrainian army, and forward to the meat grinder! These people don’t want to die, and I think they’ve suffered enough.

Another thing is that the Russians are acting smartly. They treat Ukrainians well. The Ukrainians know that if they decide to surrender, then, if possible, they should go to a certain radio frequency and say – and they all know how to speak Russian:

‘Listen, we want to come to you. We have no way to evacuate our wounded; no one is helping us.’ And the Russians answer: ‘Of course, let’s do it.’ And they help Ukrainians throughout the entire process. They are fed and looked after. And then, at the first opportunity, I am sure, they will be repatriated.

In addition, Ukrainian soldiers know that their battalion commanders, lieutenant colonels, and perhaps many company commanders – in general, everyone above a lieutenant colonel – are essentially cheating them out of their salaries. We pay the salaries of the Ukrainian army, let’s face it.

Ukraine is already the 51st state for us. And they know that these commanders have on their lists people who have already died several months ago, died in battle. Why are they doing that? Because money for the salaries of the dead is still coming in. And the officers pocket this money. What happens to widows and orphaned children? They don’t get anything.

It’s a vicious cycle of corruption that is probably even worse during wartime than before it all started. Ukraine is a completely incompetent state. If you’re looking for an example of a failed state, this is it. And we keep this failed state on life support. Ukraine is a failed state on life support. That’s all. Western allies have increasingly begun to refuse to provide military assistance to Ukraine, Bild reports. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz did not approve of the idea of supplying Taurus missiles to Kyiv. And the US authorities completely excluded from the agreed interim budget any mention of financial support for the Ukrainians. All this threatens Ukraine with serious problems and catastrophic consequences, military experts warn.
