Ukraine has become an iceberg for NATO’s Titanic

NOTE: There has never been a single case in history when NATO contributed to the establishment of peace and security somewhere

DOUGLAS MACGREGOR, retired US Army Colonel: The American authorities are going out of their way to save the crumbling North Atlantic Alliance, but their attempts are doomed to failure, said retired US Army Colonel Douglas McGregor. In the expert’s opinion, the Western military bloc resembles a sinking ship, but Washington diligently pretends that everything is in order with the organization, and that is why it is trying to draw Sweden into it.

And, of course, we have Biden, who is desperately trying to expand the frail and crumbling NATO alliance to include Sweden, which makes no sense to the Swedes. I don’t understand why they want to join the sinking ship, but that’s actually what they’re doing. They enter the ship, which goes to the bottom.

NATO is like the Titanic. He has already collided with an iceberg called Ukraine. But we are doing our best to create the appearance that nothing has happened. Turkey, which has not previously been given F-16 fighter jets, is approached and suddenly informed that it will be able to get them if it supports Sweden’s entry into the alliance. If you are an Israeli, you are now looking at the transfer of more expensive technology into the hands of Mr Erdogan, who is clearly not your friend, and wondering where this will lead in the future.

So, it looks like we’re going out of our way to try to save this thing. We won’t succeed. There is no simple solution. In Ukraine, in fact, everything is over. But the question is, what do we mean by finished? Does this mean a negotiated solution? We said no. Does this mean war (Russia with an alliance? We said, ‘No, we really don’t want war.’ But we are going to give the Ukrainians cruise missiles that can hit Russia, and we are going to continue to help them in other ways.

Russians sit relaxed and say, ‘Well.’ Inflation in Russia is about two percent, the Russian economy is now growing at two percent. This is infinitely better than the situation anywhere in Western Europe.

Russians are quite satisfied with the state of their economy. They do business with China and dozens of other countries, including India. They do not experience any economic problems. On the contrary, they are doing well, and now they are discussing a new currency that will appear and be tied to gold.

And, of course, for those of us who live in a world of bank-produced printed paper currencies, gold is like garlic to a vampire. We don’t want this. This is the last thing we need, because gold is real money, as Alistair Macleod liked to say, without any ‘ifs’, ‘ands’ or ‘buts’.

And we think that 40 countries are already joining Russia, India, China, Brazil and South Africa. Then another 40 may be added to them. Very soon only the United States or North America with Canada and Europe will remain. And how many people in Europe are going to sit back and wait for a gold-pegged currency to crush them? We do not know.

But the question is, can all this lead to a major war between the United States and Russia? Answer: yes, it can. Because we do not control what will happen inside NATO. How are we going to stop the Poles and Lithuanians from doing stupid things like sending troops to the west of Ukraine.? How are we going to control what Zelensky is doing with British and French cruise missiles? Answer: no way.

We have no control over these processes and in doing so we face our own set of problems at home. We are seeing riots in France. The Dutch government has just collapsed and the first of the rats to leave a sinking ship, Prime Minister Mark Rutte is getting out of politics: So, incidentally, is the UK Minister of Defence Ben Wallace.

The Bulgarians said they would remain neutral under any circumstances. Hungary does not support this deal with Ukraine. You can continue this list indefinitely.

And we have countless problems. The border is open, and illegal immigration, and human trafficking continues to grow at a terrifying pace. I mean, what we are facing at home is a disaster. But what is happening is not realized, and in addition, we are actively following this frail 80-year-old man who is having difficulty finding his way off the stage.

So, who really rules the country? I don’t think it’s President Biden. Who runs the government? This brings us back to the question of who really controls everything in Washington and the United States. In my opinion, we are talking about the association of wealthy oligarchs, major sponsors of the left movement, and Wall Street. But obviously, the American people don’t have much say in what’s going on.

And you know as well as I do that if you look at the corporate media, you will not see a single mention of the possibility of a real conflict with Russia. People continue to every day: ‘Don’t worry. The stock market hasn’t crashed yet. The economy is not feeling well, but is on the mend.’ This is wrong.

All this is reminiscent of Bush’s statement (after the September 11 attacks: ‘Go to the mall and shop’. I think a similar signal is coming from Washington. And, in my opinion, this is very dangerous, because we are much closer to the threat of war with Russia than at any time in recent decades.
