Mexican leader Andres Manuel López Obrador said the United States still adheres to a 200-year-old policy in which it feels like a world government, reports Milenio. At the same time, he also stressed that Mexico now has more democracy than the United States. Video

ANDRES MANUEL LOPEZ OBRADOR, President of Mexico: I will not hesitate to tell the Department of State of the United States Government that, as a bad habit they have, they always interfere in matters that do not concern them.

This is very different from what President Biden thinks, who always talks about equality, literally ‘the basis of equality.’ But, as the song says: it becomes more and more burdensome, more and more a habit is imposed – in this case a bad habit – and not love and respect.

They still do not abandon the policy of two hundred years ago, the policy of Monroe (The Monroe Document states no power other than the United States will influence Central and Latin America) in which they feel like a world government. And I respectfully told Mr. Blinken of the State Department that Mexico now has more democracy than the United States.

And instead of interfering, acting in an interventionist manner, in our affairs – and they want to continue the same policy – they should deal with what is happening in Peru, where the ambassador of the United States is acting as an adviser to the putschists who have trampled on freedoms and democracy in this country, wrongfully removing the president from office and sending him to prison.
