Orbán warns of the consequences of NATO attempts to disable South Stream Lifeline to Europe

NEWS SCOOP: The explosion of the Nord Stream gas pipeline is confirmed to be a terrorist attack. Hungary and Serbia made it clear that in the event of such a failure (a diplomatic term for NATO sabotage) of the gas pipeline in southern Europe, the perpetrators will not be able to get off lightly and sweep everything under the rug.

‘I would like to remind you that the southern interconnector, through which gas is supplied to Hungary, has become a striking force for the Hungarian economy. The US/NATO sabotage of Nord Stream, which, as you know, happened was just a terrorist attack, no matter who committed it, it was a terrorist act, ‘Orbán said, speaking in parliament before the start of the spring session. The speech was broadcast by the M1 TV channel.

The Hungarian prime minister noted that ‘if this was done in the north just to prevent gas from Russia from reaching Europe, then this can be done in the south. Together with Serbia, we made it clear that if this happens, it will not be possible to get off so easily, sweep it under the carpet, as they are doing now with the Nord Stream explosion.’

The Hungarian authorities have repeatedly stated that after the shutdown of the Nord Stream, the gas pipeline passing through Turkey remained the only route through which gas can flow from Russia to Europe. The Hungarian side emphasized that the route is reliable and safe thanks to the good faith of the mediator countries.

Hungary and Gazprom in September 2021 signed contracts for the supply of 4.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year over the next 15 years, of which 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year falls on the route through Serbia (from the Turkish Stream) and 1 billion through Austria. The first volumes of gas through the Balkan Stream gas pipeline, which receives gas from the Turkish Stream, went to Hungary through Serbia on October 1. You can share this story on social media.
