The legend of the Russian Army Gyurza (Chechnya) has been sent to Donbas by General Surovikin, dubbed General Armageddon by his troops. As a consequence, up to 1,000 Ukrainian troops are lost every day. (Videos)
The legend of the first Chechen war, the man earned every available medal except one. Retired Colonel Alexei Viktorovich Efediev with the call sign ‘Gyurza’ was sent to Donbas by General Surovikin as a unit commander. This is reported by authoritative Russian military sources and is of great importance for what we will see next of the Russian army in Ukraine. Efediev was part of Russian intelligence and is legendary for his actions in Chechnya, Afghanistan and Kosovo.
Russian military sources report: ‘Gyurza’s extensive experience gained in Afghanistan, Kosovo and Chechnya will undoubtedly come in handy in the Russian-NATO conflict.
On the shoulders of Lieutenant Colonel Efediev are many successful operations. The most important of these is the release of journalists in Grozny. In 1996, in the centre of the Chechen capital, extremists blocked Russian media correspondents and representatives of the leadership of law enforcement agencies.
Gyurza’, who then commanded a reconnaissance unit of the 166th Machine Gun Brigade, audaciously broke through the blockade of Chechen insurgents and rescue hundreds of people without any casualties in his unit.’
For the lightning-fast operation and the positive result, ‘Gyurza’ was awarded the Order of Bravery and the Order of Military Merit. Gyurza was to receive the well-deserved Gold Star of the Hero, which never happened due to infighting in the Russian military hierarchy.
At the time, most Chechens knew very well who Gyurza was and the threat his unit posed to them. The Chechens called the reconnaissance unit ‘crazy’ because Efentyev’s soldiers and he himself were ready to throw themselves into battle at all times, even when facing an often numerically superior enemy.
It is likely that Gyurza’s unit will deploy to Bakhmut, where the howitzers are firing. According to statistics from Russian military sources: The average consumption of cartridges in Bakhmut per rifle is 2000 per day. As a result, the lifespan of an AK-74 is approximately 2-3 months. The assault rifles literally burn in the hands of the soldiers. The use of howitzers is about 2.5 times higher than during the Battle of Stalingrad.
On the one hand, this gives results such as the intake of Jakovlevka. On the other hand, it requires an uninterrupted and flawless supply of units that are on the contact line. Over the past 24 hours, the territory of Bakhmut and its surroundings have been heavily shelled. Judging by the video, the attacks were carried out with TOS-1 and another type of MLRS. In total, at least 60 explosions took place in the territory of Bakhmut and its surroundings.
In the video footage, you can see several explosions near Bakhmut. Flashes and sounds of explosions could be seen from a great distance, and the video footage shows that the explosions are occurring at a very high frequency. This likely points to MLRS attacks. Shortly afterwards, the bombing of Bakhmut continued, but with TOS-1.
At the moment, the Ukrainian army controls almost the entire city of Bakhmut. The only exception is the eastern part of the city, where Russian and Wagner PMC units are already present. Wagner forces press Ukrainian defences in southern suburbs of Bakhmut – 800 casualties a day.

Heavy fighting continues in Artemovsk (Bakhmut). PMC Wagner forces divided into small assault groups push on Ukrainian defences south of the city near the village of Opytnoye. This is the southern end of the city. Near Bakhmut alone, the Ukrainian army has between 500 and 800 killed and wounded per day, mainly as a result of the bombings.

Near Soledar, Russian forces attack the Yakovlevka and Belogorovka areas to take full control of the road section. In these villages, the Russian troops managed to penetrate the defences of the 10th Brigade of the Guard of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and gain a foothold in the suburbs. The air force and artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are constantly attacking the enemy fortifications.

In the direction of Luhansk north of Kremennaya, fighting is taking place at Zhitlovka and Krasnopopovka. Here the Russians are trying to push the Ukrainian troops away from the R-66 highway. The Ukrainian army attempted a counter-attack with troops from two tactical battalions in the direction of Zhitlovka. Two Ukrainian reconnaissance groups were destroyed in the Raygorodok area of the Lugansk Republic.

In the direction of South Donetsk, a counter-attack by the Ukrainian forces in the direction of the village of Nikolskoye was intercepted. The Ukrainian forces retreated, losing up to 30 soldiers, two infantry fighting vehicles and three trucks.

In the Toretsky (Dzerzhinsky) sector of the Republic of Donetsk, Russian units are advancing towards the Shumy-Novgorodskoye (New York) line. In the Pivnichnoye (Kirovo) region, an attack by the Ukrainian armed forces has been successfully repelled. There were 20 Ukrainian casualties.

Fighting is underway to take the village of Novoselovskoye on the Svatovo-Kupyansk highway, control of which will enable the Russian army to advance on Kupyansk. This village is important for the Ukrainians. It serves as the starting point for the attack on Svatovo.
